Residence Inn Denver West/Golden

This hotel is actually easy to get to once you know the location, the problem is the directions tell you to use Indiana Street which isn't marked off the exit of Colfax Avenue from Interstate 70. We spent 20 minutes driving in circles looking for the Residence Inn, we found the Denver West Marriott finally and they gave us more distinct directions.

A typical Residence Inn, nothing special and not particularly located in a neighborhood conducive of walking around as it is in a pretty busy area and not easily accessible by foot.

There would be better locations to stay if using this for a vacation hotel, it is a fine business hotel location.

The room was clean and well appointed and the staff was very accomodating. The rate included breakfast and "happy hour" food in the early evening. All Residence Inns include breakfast, but this one was the worst I have had in any Residence Inn. The food was bad and cold, even when I came to breakfast ten minutes after it started. Strangely enough, the evening food was quite good. (One night they brought out cookies still warm from the oven.) They also offered beer and wine in the evening.

My biggest complaint about this hotel is they offer only wireless internet. My company doesn't allow me to use a wireless network, so I was unable to work at the hotel. As this is a fairly common policy in Corporations, I feel the hotel should also offer wired internet in the rooms. For this reason alone, I would not stay here again, and would instead stay at the Marriott Courtyard next door.

We (2 kids, 2 adults) stayed at the Residence Inn for 2 nights while we explored Denver area. It was clean, comfortable, relaxing. We had the 1 Bedroom Queen Suite, which has full walls and a door between the bedroom and the living room. The desk in the living room had (free) wired internet. There's a full furnished kitchen.

The breakfast had a good variety of foods to choose from, hot buffet style. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub were clean and quiet.

This location is very convenient to the interstates and the mall. Although not walking distance, it's still easy to get around.

My parents and I stayed three nights at the Residence Inn in Golden, Colorado over the New Year's Eve holiday. I chose this hotel because of the location (near Colorado Mills Mall, U.S. 6, and Interstate 70), along with the positive reviews that I'd read online, and the type of accomodations that they offered. And, I'm happy to say that I was NOT disappointed!

Our One Bedroom Suite consisted of a full kitchen (dishwasher, stove, microwave, frig, coffee maker, glasses, plates, silverware, pans, etc), living room area (chair w/ foot-rest, couch/sofabed, TV, small dresser), office desk and chair, and bedroom with a bed, TV, dresser, and bathroom). The room was both comfortable and clean.

The hotel also had a complimentary breakfast buffet in the mornings (eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, toast, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, etc). Go early if you can --- Some of the items seem to disappear pretty quickly and it can take a little while for them to bring out more.

There's also a computer with a printer in the lobby that you can use free of charge to check-in for your flight, do online searches, find directions, etc. This was definitely a nice-to-have!!

The only negatives that I can think to mention really are that house-keeping came by to clean my room a little later than expected (around 4 - 5pm) and the extra blanket in my room (for use with the sofabed) was chock full of static; I couldn't move without seeing and hearing the flicker of light, although it never actually shocked me. A little strange, but not a big deal.

The hotel was in a good location and my room was large, clean, & comfortable --- I would not hesitate to stay here again!!

Room was a one bedroom suite. Kitchen had dinnerware for 2 people. Plastic spoons, forks. Real knives. Couldn't figure out the logic in that. Popcorn. Salt, pepper shakers. Room service didn't show up the first two days. Even called the front desk early morning the 2nd day to verify they'd be there. Front desk said yes. They didn't show. When they did show, job was adequate. Did leave splash of coffee on the coffee colored countertop that never got cleaned up though. Breakfast comes with room. Lots of kids in the breakfast area. Oatmeal, eggs, waffles, yogurt offered. Bed comfortable. Sofa comfortable. Reclining chair not comfortable. Not worth website rate of $159/night. Worth about $99 night max.

Every time I stay at a Marriott brand property I am satisfied, but never enough to say "I can't wait to go back." This Residence Inn is the first Marriott property I would like to go to. It is conveniently located near the Colorado Mills shopping area; clean, spacious room and most important, great employees and managers - they truly made my long term stay enjoyable. All the complimentary ammenities are there: great breakfast; adequate evening appetizer food and drinks, wired and wireless internet pool. The workout room was very disappointing, but hey hook you up with a complimentary membership to a superb gym a just mile down the road called the Pointe.

I think this is the best value in the Golden/Denver West area.

This hotel made a good base to explore Golden, Boulder, Central City Opera and Denver itself.

The inclusive breakfast; free delivered newspapers; in-room internet access; and complimentary use of the business centre at the adjacent Courtyard hotel gave the impression of hotel management trying to do that bit extra. Did I mention the bag of free popcorn in the room? The management is efficient and friendly.

Small quibbles....the breakfast coffee machine was very erratic; and the hotel only has a small outside seating area with no view of the mountains, or anything else!
Not things that would deter me from staying here again.

My wife and I enjoyed our 4 day stay very much.
