If you enjoy quilting, then this is the museum to visit. There are several shows a year highlighting different themes. There is a small gift shop attached. Explore the latest techniques along with the old traditional quilting favorites!

As a quilter, I thought this would be a nice stop on our recent vacation. The information posted on the website boasted 250 quilts. I wonder where they all were? You pay your admission, and turn the corner into the "gallery", which was maybe 18'x20' and had no more than about 50 quilts hanging, most of which were done in the past 20 years. Go to a quilt show instead and enjoy that more. Very disappointed.

The museum was showcasing quilts by Ann Elliott. If you like Baltimore quilts you will like this tour. You get a personal tour of about 15 quilts. You can take pictures of the quilts. And there is a quilt store down the block. The ladies in the museum were very nice.

The collection we saw on display was truly stunning, including types of quilts I'd never seen before. The facility is quite small, so some people might find the entry fee excessive (I think it was $6 per person), but I thought it was definitely worth it. The website notes free-entry days. Docent was helpful without being intrusive. A lovely facility.

This quilt museum is located in downtown Golden. It has moved from it's original location to 1213 Washington Avenue - just one block down.

There is a combination of changing exhibits that are from the museum's collection and some from traveling exhibits. The quality is generally very good. They may push for you to check-out the gift shop too. If you really like quilts it's worth visiting but let those uninterested wait outside because there is an admission fee.
