My friend and I happened upon the FAC while spending a couple of days in Golden. The Colorado Watercolor Society exhibit was going on, and it was fabulous. The Center was also advertising for an upcoming Degas exhibit.

I went to the Foothills Art Center to see the Chihuly exhibit. It is a tiny place with a limited parking capacity. The staff was not very friendly.

They are gettings significant shows in the past few years, and they always do a great job of carrying local art for sale in many different mediums.

I highly recommend the Chihuly temporary exhibit! While small, the objects are stunningly beautiful, as one would expect from Dale Chihuly. All of the objects belong to one man, George R. Stroemple. The venue was once a Neo-Gothic style church and is interesting in its own right. Check out their website http://www.foothillsartcenter.org

Always something new at the foothills art center. You are greeted as though your visit is the most important of the day. What a true source of pride for the small city of Golden. Art works, ranging from glass to clay to forums that you can only imagine. What a lovely place to visit. It is small but demonstrates so many types of art, that it can fill an afternoon.
