I was a little nervous about even getting on a horse, let alone planning each day around trail rides, but I wasted my time worrying. I loved the family activities, the scenery, the rafting trip, the food, the square dancing, and especially the daily trail rides on my horse. Our whole family was in agreement; the kids asked to pleeease go back next year. The Fosha Family and their wonderful staff know their jobs and love their horses; they do all they can to match their guests with the animals and activities that are bound to keep everyone happy. Wonderful outdoor adventure for the whole family!

Thank you for your review. We are excited we eased your nervousness about riding a horse for the week! If your kids end up convincing you to return in the future we will sure try to get the same horse for you to ride the high country again.

Hope to see you again in the future!

We visited the ranch in July for the first time and had an AMAZING trip! The ranch was recommended by multiple friends (as their best vacation ever) and did not disappoint. Hard to say what my favorite activity was. The Fosha family is precious and makes you feel a part of the ranch and their family! My family did an all day ride and Marissa was our wrangler. She is hilarious and kept us entertained but was super careful with our two kids. Ian was also a very talented wrangler. The white water rafting was beautiful! The river was very calm and we saw eagles! I loved the breakfast ride with the whole camp. The night time activities were so much fun! My kids surprisingly loved the square dancing! (I could have done square dancing every night! ) and the carnival night. They also had activities separate for the kids and the adults. Thanks Logan for entertaining the kids. I felt like I graduated from horse back camp when we did cow penning on Thursday. A total blast! Ryan Fosha explaining how to cow pen using his cowboy power point was pretty funny, too!
It felt like super fun camp for the whole family! Another unexpected bonus was meeting the other families visiting the ranch. The staff was unbelievable from the wait staff to the housekeeping (Hank ha!).
Again, can't say enough good things about the Fosha family.

Thank you for the fantastic review of our ranch! We will be sure to let our employees know everything they did to make your week special for your entire family.

While we teach team penning with the "Cowboy Power Point" method we can't take credit for inventing it-- credit goes to a returning guest a few years back... shows what fun and creative folks vacation at Drowsy Water Ranch.

We hope to see your family back at the ranch in the future.

We've been vacationing at this ranch for a number of years now and we've never been disappointed...as matter of fact it gets better every year! The Fosha family take great care of their guest...and horses. :-) I should point out that one of our wranglers this year (Ian) was awesome! Highly recommend this vacation spot...a true gem! - JC.

The Fosha family and their staff are second to none. From arrival on day one we felt like family. Between the horses, rafting, fishing, zip lining, hiking, and biking, there is something for everyone to do every day. The cabins were rustic and made it feel like a true ranch experience! We are trying to figure out when we can get back. Kids cried for 2 hours on the way back to Denver because they missed it so much. Thanks for some truly great memories.

None of us had much horseback riding experience but the wranglers were excellent at instructing us. Our horses were all well suited to our personalities and ability level. The choice of half-day or full-day rides was perfect so that we could choose how long we wanted to be out riding. Riding our horses to breakfast one morning was a trip highlight.

We had 10 family members in 3 cabins. The cabins were rustic. The food was basic but plentiful and the kids were happy. The pink lemonade and hot chocolate that was always available were hits.

All of the staff was very knowledgeable and personable. The end of the week Staff Show was a hit as it was charming and funny.

It was a perfect trip for our family to create memories and the kids LOVED it.

Room Tip: All of the cabins are in the valley between two mountains. Choice of cabin is really based on the number of persons it sleeps.
