I was looking for basic, reasonably comfortable accommodations for the night, and found it here. This circa-1955 motel is well maintained in a part of town that has seen better days. There are some decent restaurants a few blocks north, however, and the area looks slightly dodgy but not dangerous. Traffic noise was not bad. The retro-chic neon sign out front was a plus.
Service was great, and the complimentary continental breakfast hit the spot. In addition to cereal, toast, bagels and yogurt were grill-your-own waffles. Overall it was a good value. The breakfast area is narrow, so you may need to wait for a seat during the busy season.
I would recommend a south-facing room as our north-facing room got really bright in the early morning light. Next time I'll bring an eye mask.
