Description: il Bistro Italiano opened in August 1998. Our focus is on bringing a combination of traditional Italian dishes together with some innovative ones created within the boundaries of modern Italian cuisine. The pastas, breads, sauces, and desserts are all made at the restaurant from fresh ingredients. Our wine list features a large selection of wines from Italy and Colorado, and whenever possible, we use local ingredients in our kitchen. There is always something going on at the Bistro, so look at the Events Section to learn of special wine nights, cooking classes or other featured events.

One of the best italian restaurants in Colorado. After spending a year living on Boston and getting quite familiar with the food in the North End the food in this restaurant compares with the best found there. The food was very well executed. Their wine list is pretty good. The service is outstanding. They make their own bakery deserts on site and the bakery products are just outstanding. This is our second time at this restaurant our first time was in a weekend outing we did over a year ago. This place has become a mandatory spot while in Grand Junction.

“Pizza delicious.”

Very nice ambiance in old building downtown. Great Martinis. Bread nice and plentiful...ask for their olive oil. Crispy salads with average dressing and store-bought croutons. Pork shanks skimpy, served with garlic mashed potatoes. Overall service good.

“A Pleasant Surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2004

My wife and I stopped by Grand Junction for one night, and came across this bistro at the corner of 4th and Main Sts. We hadn't planned on going in, but there were so many locals crowding in, we were curious to try it. The aroma of Italian dishes from the brick ovens were welcoming. The paper thin-crust Italian-style pizzas were delicious, but the tagliatelle was a bit overcooked (no-dente). Wine selection of imported reds from Italy was especially impressive, as was the prompt service. I'd highly recommend this restaurant over the Dolce Vita, which seems a bit "past its prime".
