We had a fantastic stay at the DoubleTree Grand Junction. The view of the golf course & Colorado National Monument in the distance was great. The restaurant food was delicious (I highly recommend the salmon tacos), the room was very comfortable, and all of the staff were friendly & accommodating.

Our choice of this hotel, due to the HHonors program, was a good one. Room was clean, very comfortable and big. Parking was excellent; lobby is small and just steps from the front counter and hotel entrance door but we didn't need to use it. Pool and jacuzzi was very nice however the pool towels were thin and not a Hilton quality you'd expect. Overall a good choice for a stopover on a long trip.

We had a large room with two queen beds. The room was clean and nicely decorated. There was a single nightstand between the two beds and both beds sagged on the side closest to the nightstand. There were limited electrical outlets so we could not charge all our devices at once. The lighting was sufficiently bright. Amenities included a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom had a large counter and was brightly lit. No drying cord in the bathroom.

Free WiFi and two free desktops in the business center in the lobby.

We had an amazingly warm welcome to this very nice highrise property. Impeccable service.

Some areas could use a little updating, but it's very clean and tidy. Our room was nicely furnished and very comfortable.

So, even though this is a perfectly fine hotel in the same way most hotels are just fine, here are a few little drawbacks you might want to know about.......

Unlike other properties we enjoyed on this recent trip to Colorado, this one was a full-service hotel-----which means it lacks a fridge, a microwave, and breakfast. Just something to keep in mind when you're comparing rates.

Very kindly the hotel puts out urns of coffee in the lobby. Unfortunately it's some of the worst coffee I can remember.

The hotel is directly across a parking lot from the freeway, so if you're at all sensitive to noise, you should request a room on the quiet side of the building.

The pool is too warm for swimming, but that's OK.....there are too many kids in it anyway.

front desk excellent, swimming and hot tub great. I just can't believe people won't clean up after swimming, towels everywhere food and drinks left all over the pool area. air conditioner in room sounds like a train is coming through the room, sooo loud you have to turn up TV and then have to turn down when it turns off. very annoying.

Dear Mr. Per Nilsson (manager of Grand Junction Doubletree),

I recently stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in Grand Junction over the weekend with my children. We arrived at the same time as a large tour group, and there were no luggage carts available. I then asked an employee to help with our bags, as we had been traveling for over a week and had several heavy bags. I was told "forget it, we have to get the tour people unloaded.
Come back in an hour."

Huh. As a Hilton Honors member at the Gold level, I am surprised that your employees would say that to me. I saw several other non-tour guests also struggling with luggage, and they were also ignored.

I asked to speak to a manager on both Saturday night and Sunday morning, and was told that no manager was on duty. Really? On a weekend, when you have hundreds of customers? Wow.

Since I was not able to reach you in person (or an assistant or replacement manager), I am contacting you through Trip Advisor.

While there are many wonderful employees at this Doubletree (Connie in the restaurant is one outstanding example), we were disappointed by the experience with the luggage. It's a lovely hotel, and I suppose it's the luck of the draw what the service is like at the front desk or from luggage helpers.

We chose to go over to the Holiday Inn for dinner at the Grand Valley Grill, and will probably stay there the next time we travel to Grand Junction.

Room Tip: Rooms over the golf course are quieter.

Green Features: Fine, they seem to be as good about it as others. They give you a choice about leaving towels or having new towels and sheets. That is standard these days.

Thank you for your comments. I will review this with my team. No reason for you not to get assistance with luggage regardless if there was a tour or not. Also, I do have manager coverage on weekends so I will follow up on that as well. Hope you will give us a second chance!

Good Tennis Courts, clean. Restaurant looked good, but we did not eat there. Clean. Bug-free. Western glam. Our second stay. Other was soccer tournament. Would stay again briefly. What else to say to make 200 characters? Clean water?
