My wife and I had an EXCELLENT time staying at the North Shore Lodge. It was quiet and relaxing. We saw a couple foxes, tons of hummingbirds, some Osprey and while hiking around Grand Lake we had the opportunity to see 3 moose. Doug and Edie are terrific. We actually had this trip booked for September of 2013 and had paid in advance. My in-laws live in Lyons Co. and when the flood hit they were displaced from their home. I called to cancel because I needed to help my out in Lyons and was already planning on losing the money we had put down for the trip. I called about a week ahead of our stay and when Doug and Edie found out the reason they said, "You can come back next year. We will put a hold on your room and when it's convenient for you just call and if we have an opening you're welcome to use it then". So I called in the beginning of May to see if I could schedule for the 3rd week in May and without hesitation Doug reserved us a room and a wonderful time we had. My hat goes off to Doug and Edie because it seems in today's world it is very rare and hard to find customer service like this. We will be back.

We're so glad you were able to stay with us, even if it was several months after you originally planned! We really want people to be able to come (and maybe fall in love with the place)- We allow guests that aren't able to make it (24hrs-30days prior to reservation), to delay their stay rather than cancel. We issue a pre-paid account that never expires and is transferable and is in the full amount of their deposit, that they can use at their convenience.

With everything your family went through with the flood, your trip was well earned! We look forward to hosting you again in the future. Thank you for you thoughtful review.

Thank you for your nice review- We loved North Shore long before we became its managers and are delighted to be implementing many of the improvement we dreamed of for the property. We're very glad you like the new GetAway Suite and look forward to hosting you again in the future!

Last weekend, five of us went to the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was an amazing trip due to both beautiful scenery and comfy accommodations. The North Shore Lodge is such a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in a suite which has three bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a beautiful fireplace. It was cozy, comfy and very clean. It made me feel like home. The kitchen was well stocked and got everything you need for cooking. We were supposed to bring some food and cook together!!! What a pity!! There is a restaurant nearby, and we had dinner there. It’s really nice and economical.
Speaking of the lodge, the best part of it was that we lit up the fire then gathered around the fireplace and talked, sang and danced with music. The next morning when I woke up I was shocked by the view throughout the window. The snow-capped mountains in the backdrop with the blue water and the vapor made me feel like a fairyland.
Btw, thanks for the property managers Doug and Eddie providing such a great area for a friend vacation. Although we only stayed there for one night, it provided us an definitely unforgettable experience. I will be back, with families next time!!

Thank you for your sweet compliments! We enjoyed having your group and look forward to your return visits!

Lake Granby looks a little different each day you see it and the autumn fog is so beautiful. We joke that we can't be too hard on our son when he misses the school bus- It means we "have to" drive by the lake!

We couldn't be happier to stay at the North Shore Lodge! We saw the views outside the window, clouds dances between sky and lake. It was so fascinating!
We also BBQ there. Everything we need could be found there. At night, we had the choice of keeping warm with the wood burning stove there.
I can't wait to go back!!!
Thanks for making it such a nice weekend!!

We're glad you enjoyed your stay at North Shore Resort. There is nothing quite like a Grand County sunset; Alpenglow on the mountains and intense colors in the clouds. We think everyone should spend time in places where you can still see so many stars, too!

Many of our guests enjoy the gas BBQ grills, but for those who want to "rough it" just a little, charcoal grills or the fire pit are additional options.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the area and the accommodations. We look forward to hosting you again in the future!

We stayed at the North Shore Lodge for 2 nights . Edie and Doug were wonderfully helpful and accommodating to us both before and throughout our stay. We stayed in Cabin 6, which was very clean and furnished in a comfortable fashion. We really enjoyed the "retro" dining set and classic Westinghouse refrigerator, all perfectly functional. I would describe the furnishing as comparable to a lake cabin in the northwoods , comfy but plain.. If you want designer appliances, and hotel decor this is not for you. Be aware that the WI-FI does not always work. and did not while we were there, but there is Wi-FI in town, about 4 miles away. Overall, we felt very fortunate to find this place and I would rate it as a value.

Room Tip: Call Edie directly and work with her. She will match you with your needs and existing availability.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of North Shore. We're glad you enjoyed your stay! In today's "disposable society" we value the workhorse retro refrigerators and we're glad you liked them!

Please accept our apologies that the WiFi was not working correctly. We've spent over $3000 in 2 1/2 years to optimize WiFi performance at both properties, but small town service does have its limits. We are aware of how important internet service is to our guests. We have hard-wired internet for the large suites at either end of the deck and are considering it for all of the units in between.
