“A classy surprise”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

OK, I admit that I'm a food snob. Pulling into Grand Lake after driving over the summit through Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, I expected a bunch of burger joints and pizzerias. But this place was a delightful surprise. A crêperie! Mountain cozy, soft classical music, really nice service and excellent crêpes, reasonably priced. The seafood crêpe was creamy and flavorful without being drowned in a soupy sauce, as is often the case, and the veggies in the minestrone were a bit crunchy, rather having been boiled to mush. Grand Lake itself is a pretty town, and if it has other offerings like this, it's definitely worth a stop.

“Breakfast was very good.”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

Ate at the bistro on our last day in Grand Lake, wish we would have went there before that. Service was great, even though there was only one waitress, she handled things well and was there when we needed her. As for the food, it was home cooked and appetizing, and was a good value for what we ordered. Would not hesitate to go back!

“Good food, but clean your washrooms!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

The decor of this place is very nice and comfy, the servers were super nice and accommodating. The french toast was yummy, the grits were cold and lacked flavor :( The huevos papas were good going down , and not so good coming out. (if you get what I mean) would we eat here again? probably not , there is a reason everyone is going to the bakery around the corner. The washroom to this place was a torn up mess with a toliet over flowing. Now this wasn't just oh their wash room was just messed up , this was worse than many gas station restrooms.

“Outstanding crepes and great service”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

We ended up eating here twice during our week in Grand Lake. A lot of the restaurants in the area have summer help, many of whom are not very well trained. This restaurant was the exception. Our waiter was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, and an excellent server. The crepes (both savory and sweet) were light and the fillings very fresh. What a treat to find a European style bistro in the middle of Colorado. They had a great selection of meats and cheeses on the tapas menu and everything was very reasonably priced, including many of the wines. The atmosphere was perfect for conversation; very classy place.

“Didn't meet expectations”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Our neighbors had raved about the burgers which they had for lunch at this restaurant, but we were sorely disappointed. The burger was small, very "fast food" average with a "McDonalds" type bun. The chowder was bland with no flavor and was served at room temperature. We could never get the server's attention to tell him. The rest of our food was of similar quality. The server was surly and the only time we saw him was when we got our beverages and when we flagged him down to get our bill (someone else delivered our food). Only four tables were occupied, but he always seemed to be rushing around with a frown on his face. Maybe we just visited this restaurant on a bad day, but we don't think we'll try it again.
