Black Bear Lodge of Grand Lake

We stayed in a king room with kitchenette and found everything we needed. There is a new owner there, who is trying to upgrade the place. The sheets and towels are much better quality than is typically found in a motel type room. The internet works very well and is super fast. Out front are chairs with a great view of the mountains. There is what appears to be a new hot tub and sauna in a separate building. The location is convenient to Grand Lake stores and restaurants and it is on the main road leading to town. Somehow it was not what I expected because of the name "Lodge" when the outside looks like a typical motel.

Bob and Therese are great! Very nice people with a charming place! The beds are super comfortable after a long 9 mile hike in the park. Very close to everything without the expensive grand lake price tag! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: 17 has a kitchen which came in handy!

Black Bear Lodge provides superb personal service by new owners, Therese and Bob, who are upgrading and improving the rooms. These couldn't be more comfortable and clean! The Lodge is back from the highway so noise is a minimum. The pool and sauna are excellent revivers after a good hike in the national Park! Coffee and a light breakfast are provided.
The owners provided any and all help we needed. Bob even did an emergency repair on our car that enabled us to get home to Denver for a dealer fix. Outstanding!

Hello and thank you for reviewing us. We pride ourselves in cleanliness and are sorry that your room was not up to our standards. We have just upgraded our bedsheets, pillows and linens. We are upgrading and updating all aspects of our business. We promise to improve daily and will be doing extensive remodeling this winter. We do offer good mattresses, a beautiful main lodge, hot tub and sauna. We will always provide polite, attentive service. Thank you, Robert and Therese

My husband and I recently spent one night here. We were happy with our stay. The room was clean and welcoming. The pool, hot tub and sauna are a nice touch. The hot tub and sauna area is very nice and clean. We will definitely return in the future.

Robert, and Therese are by far two of the most accomadating hosts you could meet. They have taken the lodge to a new direction of customer satisfation in there short time as owners. You will like the clean, quiet, and well equiped rooms. Just a stones throw from the town of Grand Lake, and the Rocky Mountain National Park. We came to photograph some of the wild life in the park, and were surprised to find that Moose and Black Bear have been known to frequent the area around the lodge. After a day of exploring the area you will find a visit to the Pool, Sauna, or Jacuzzi quite refreshing. We would stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to positively review our business. We are working hard to improve everyday and will continue to do so. We have upgraded linens and bedding. Soon we will have a new online reservation system in place so that folks can check availability and book secure online reservations in a user friendly manner.

We where very pleased with our stay and found the new management under Therese and Robert to be extremely accommodating. They enabled us to check in early as our room was ready.
The kitchenette in our room was very immaculate. The refrigerator was already on and the clock was set on both the microwave and the side of the bed. The room and bathroom were spotless.
The addition of a variety of tea and fruit in the lobby for guests to enjoy in that area or to take to the room was perfect. Coffee is available early, if you don't want to do your own.
The hot tub and pool are clean and the larger towels are great.
