This is a must eat at restaurant if you are in or around Grand Lake, Co. The menu is amazing and the food tastes just as good as it is described. The waitresses are very courteous and even through in free ice cream for an extra child that didn't order off the kids menu. The drinks on the menu are phenomenal and for only $5 you can have some pretty good Sangria. I recommend the bloody mary or the beer, personally. The lamb burger is so awesome. The turkey blt will fill you for days-it is so big! If you are really, really hungry then be sure to order the crab & artichoke dip. Yummy! The food costs are a little pricey; expect to pay around $12-15/plate. I promise it is worth it.

Sunday brunch was our favorite here 5 years ago. The lodge closed for a while to clear the grounds of dead trees from the pine beetle epidemic, and it reopened with a far different character. The food now the standard steam table setup you would expect at a Holiday Inn free breakfast, except at a premium price. Gone are the shrimp and eggs Benedict; gone is the prime rib with the carver ready to serve. Dry scrambled eggs and bacon on the breakfast side, a taco bar on the lunch side, thin lemon bars for desert. Very sad.

We ate dinner at the Grand Lake Lodge and enjoyed a table with a view of Grand Lake. This is a historic old lodge and has character with the great view. Between the three of us, we enjoyed steak, salmon, and chicken and all were excellent. We also had an appetizer with buffalo sausage, smoked salmon, cheese, nuts, etc which was different but went great with our wine. The waitress recommended Creme Brulee for dessert and it was great as well. This was one of the best meals we have had and certainly the best in Grand Lake for a special night out.

We recently held our daughter's wedding at the Lodge. Many of our guests also stayed there. Jeff, the general manager, was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end, as was his event coordinator, Morgan. Our guests raved about the food, which we can confirm with the meal that was prepared for the wedding reception....it was delicious. The venue can't be beat, and for those visiting for the first time, will make quite the impression. Nothing but 5 stars to rate our whole experience.

I've visited the Grand Lake Lodge many times over the years for their Sunday brunch buffet, and when passing through the area this year, opted to stay a night. My wife and I stayed in a half-cabin with a king bed, and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was decorated in typical lodge-style furnishings, and the bathroom seems to have been recently made over with modern tile and fixtures. Our cabin, while comfortable, was not overly impressive. The main lodge itself, of course, is much more interesting and the lodge grounds are well-kept. The views from the dining balcony are wonderful, and the food was good, both at dinner and the morning breakfast. The staff are all quite pleasant and helpful. If you are budget conscious and will be spending most of your time in the National Park, the lodge probably has little to offer. On the other hand, if you want a relaxed stay with an easy dining option and lovely views of Grand Lake, then the lodge is worth a stay.
