Had dinner there with about 60 people associated with a wedding we attended. The room we were in was a nice size and was open to the bar, although it seemed like we had the whole area to ourselves. Service was beyond good. Appetizers and dinner were tasty and we had a choice of 3 dishes to eat. All were served in a timely manner....and everyone I spoke to commented on the quality of the food. A very nice experience...highly recommend! Not sure of the cost, as we didn't pay

This is typical "old Colorado" - cozy, lodge pole-pine log building on the banks of a rushing mountain stream just at the end of downtown. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and steered us right. We called ahead to secure a table right on the window over the rushing water - there were people beneath us having drinks alongside the water and the beautiful flowers - would love to go back and sit outside. Our steak and rainbow trout were excellent and the salads were memorable. Good wine selection, as well. You feel as though you're truly in Colorado and nowhere else.

We highly recommend dining here at least twice (lunch outside by the river and dinner inside with comfort/feel of an old lodge) and enjoy great (quality/quantity) food with friendly service. We've dined here numerous times, never been disappointed and met some very interesting/friendly fellow diners.
If you're only here on a short stay be sure this one is on your must do list!

Staying at the Rapids Lodge, I ate dinner at the Lodge. If you like to watch the water tumbling over the rocks and listen to the sound of the river, this is the place. I had their special for the evening, which was Bison medallions. The portions were very large. It is by far the best Bison that I have ever had. My wife had the Filet and we both agreed that that the Bison was better. The pomegranate/onion sauce was something special. Although the red pepper soup, potatoes, and green beans were ok, they were nothing special. The use of the raspberry sorbet between the soup and the meal was a nice touch. For Grand Lake, I would rate it a 5, however, having eaten in several 5 star restaurants, it fell short. However, I would still recommend this for anyone visiting Grand Lake to eat at least one dinner or go there for a special occasion.
