We dined here for the 1st time after reading the Trip Advisor reviews. We've spent time in Grand Lake for almost 10 years and never stopped by as the front door / sign is a little inconspicuous and it's not really near the regular places we go.
There are only 10 tables inside the the menu seemed ambitious for such a small place. I always a little leery of a restaurant that has a large menu with a small space. But The Terrace Inn obviously has figured out the balance of a varied menu and their ability to produce quality food in a timely manner. Service was prompt and helpful. Food was delivered quickly, really, really hot and prepared perfectly.
Soup of the day was Carrot Ginger. Very hot, tasty and light. Good ginger spice. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon. It was deliciously smoky, pared with a light cucumber salsa. It was a perfect medium-rare. My husband had the mahi-mahi. He commented it seems Mahi Mahi is often overcooked. Not this time.
Wine was fairly priced. Desserts were offered for a reasonable price. (We had the Chocolate Pudding, it was obviously homemade and pretty good.)
We're glad to find a restaurant in Grand Lake that's open year round (limited days/hours in the winter) and serves great food. Although this was only our first visit, I look forward to visiting again to have other menu items.
If you're in Grand Lake, don't pass it by due to the upscale menu offerings (especially for Grand Lake). There aren't many good restaurants and I hope ones like The Terrace Inn continue to prosper.
