This lodge is located right within the town of Grand Lake which makes it very convenient for walking to stores for shopping and to local restaurants. We stayed in a room with a King size bed for $140.00 per night. The room was simple but very clean and smelled clean. Nothing seemed worn except maybe the carpet. There was a portable air conditioner in the room which is not needed in the mountains because it doesn't get that hot. It was probably there so she could charge a little more for the room. The bed was hard as a rock. The customer service is poor. The woman at the front desk was direct and abrupt laying down the rules to the hotel i.e. no smoking (we don't smoke and prefer nonsmoking rooms), lobby not open until 8AM-10PM, leave keys in the drop box outside the entrance to the hotel, must be out of the room by 10 AM. She did not greet us by welcoming us to her lodge and did not say thank-you for visiting us and come back again. Perhaps she just doesn't care since Grand lake is such a popular place. I work in a hospital as an RN and am constantly drilled on providing good customer service and was very dissapointed in how we were treated by this woman. She definitely needs to learn how to be nicer and more caring. I feel this would improve not only her business but also her own personality. We will not stay there again but will look for another place in Grand Lake to stay the next time we come to visit.
