Horrible exprerience. I visited with my mom to spend the weekend of her birthday at Grand Lake. We popped into Spirit Lake and the lady at the desk said that they had a room available but only for two nights. Now we were exhausted and pretty stressed out at the time because we had driven 4 hours to get there, so we asked if she would let us stay one night and we told her our situation. She just stood there shaking her head and kept saying no no no and then said have a great day and walked away leaving us standing there. Very rude and bad experience! Never going back

Very small accomodations. Bed okay, but the no comfortable place to sit, relax or watch TV. Owner comes and goes, no services to speak of. Was clean. Good location. Watched the memorial day parade from our balcony.

My wife and I just returned home from spending 5 nights at this ideally located, wonderfully run, location in Grand Lake. It is well crafted and maintained. The gazebo out back provided us countless opportunities to unwind and enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains (and never forget the chipmunks wandering around). The mornings arrived like a whisper, People actually seemed to understand how magical this place is and we rarely heard a raised voice, and then only in joy. Hard to believe, but true. Even the cars going by slowed to a crawl and waved in passing. Great place to find your self.

Room Tip: Room 6 was perfect for the two of us. It's on the back side. I suspect any of the rooms here w...

This is a reasonably-priced hotel on one side of the historic downtown. The room we got had a nice sitting area with a fireplace, flatscreen TV and refrigerator. Adjacent to the sitting was a small bedroom. Clean place, but generally I'm not a big fan of traveling with our two toy poodles, but my wife loves them and sometimes I must give in. Cost was $10 per dog.

Room Tip: This motel is dog friendly and pretty nice.

The positives--clean, good lighting in the rooms, ceiling fan made sleeping cool, location.

The negatives--room was very basic, bathroom tiny with very small counter for toiletries, no coffee pot (did have coffee in the office which didn't open until 8am). They advertised a hot tub but here is no way we would have gotten into that thing.

The coffee issue is the deciding factor for me. I like to have coffee when I first wake up, before getting dressed and out for the day. We won't stay here again.

The bikes we got were in good shape, no damage or restarting issues. The trail system was great, got out early and enjoyed seeing two moose and riding in fresh powder. The moose slowed us down, they don't like getting off the trail due to the deep powder and I didn't want to push them. Overall a great time, staff was helpful, but a little crabby when we had to revamp our reservation a few days ahead of time. Much bigger/better trail system than the one located near Vail, would definitely come back here again.

Upon checking in, the lady was fairly rude. Got stuck in the parking lot snow. For the amount that was paid, there should have been ample parking. Apparently snowmobile rentals were more important than patrons parking. Had to park a block away and walk to our room. The stairs were extremely slick and the hot tub smell was overbearing while outdoors. The temperature in the room was not maintainable, it was either too hot or too cold. The shower temp was lukewarm at best. All of this aside, the room was incredibly clean!
