“Amazing family vacation”
Reviewed 8 September 2010

A must vacation spot if you have kids! If the fabulous horseback riding, amazing staff and host, and delicious meals does not wow you, the outstanding children program will keep you happy all week. The children activities are well thought out, organized, engaging and full of "all day fun". It gives the parents the opportunity for a real vacation!

This ranch gives you everything you could want and more. Amazing scenery, impressive food and a wonderful staff. The cabins are very nice with great linens, front porch, fireplaces, etc. Activities cater to every age. Our 8 year old got to ride horses and hang out with other kids her age while the adults hit the trail for their own adventure. (But, plenty to do all together too!) The staff truly goes the extra mile. The food was gourmet. We had a hard time deciding our favorites. Can't wait to go back next summer.

Gorgeous scenery on the riding trails. All of the food was excellent! Plenty of options for activities, or time to just relax. The staff was very talented and personable! Highly recommended!!!

Our family has made two visits to TRR...fifteen years apart. We recently (Aug.'10) made our second trip with our grown children and their spouses (we aren't grandparents yet). The folks that run TRR and their staff are a throwback to the days when politeness, courtesy, warmth and friendliness were a part of how customers were treated. The staff of young people were enthusiastic, talented and a real joy to be with. The horses are very calm, even at 12,000 feet! If you want a wholesome, enjoyable, outing with your family away from the hustle and bustle, this is your place!!!

We were a group of 6 adults (parents and their adult children/spouses) who enjoyed a week of riding and relaxing at this wonderfully scenic ranch outside of Grant, CO. My husband and I had taken our children to TRR about 15 years ago, and it was so exceptional, we had to go back (FINALLY).
The owners and staff are loads of fun while making sure your experience exceeds your expectations. The cabin was so comfortable--with porch furniture/swing/ fireplaces/feather toppers on the comfy beds made for a very good night's sleep. Mornings we would walk to the dining room (lovely views and mtn lodge type furninshings) for a breakfast FEAST. A variety of fresh fruits and berries, yogurts, cereals, oatmeal, juices , bagels & crm cheese, breads were daily items. Additionally, a cheerul staffperson would bring a plate of eggs, pancakes, frenchtoast, bacon, sausage, or ham (depending on the day), not to mention the freshly brewed coffee. To-go cups were nice if we needed the extra caffeine!
Next on schedule for us was usually a trail ride which featured spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. You will have a choice of rides, but I would recommend the all-day to Mt. Rosalie. It was a high point of our week. Lunch was packed and you will never have a more tasty treat to enjoy at such a fabulous location. Just do it.
The riding was great fun--I was grateful for a horse to make those climbs and descents for me!! You will have many chances for loping which , tho my technique lacked much, was ridiculously fun/funny. Lots of streams to cross, many many different types of terrain to ride through and enjoy.
The week ends with a rodeo that you will be encouraged to take part in, tho you are certainly free to be a spectator if desired. Its a lot of fun and gives you a chance to see some of the wranglers show off their skills.
The week had opportunities for singing around campfires, smores included, guest participation in the "hootenanny", trap shooting, fishing (and catching) for trout, hayride, horseshoes, trip to town (we went into Breckenridge), overnight trail ride , massages, hiking, river rafting, swimming and hot-tubbing (great for some sore-muscle treatment), cookouts, and the best home-cooking ever!
Can't say enough good things about TRR and staff!
It's a fine way to spend a week with family and friends --memories you will treasure.

We loved the outdoor and western activities for all of our 16 family members (ages ranging from 11 to 81 yrs. old), the delicious food, the attentive staff and the beautiful surroundings. This is why we have been to your ranch three times. It's a perfect place for a memorable vacation. Thanks again.
