We cannot speak highly enough of our family's stay at the Outlook Lodge. The rooms are stellar — every detail is thoughtful, every finish is stunning. The Lodge was our home base for a trip to the Numismatic Museumin Co. Springs, the Pike's Peak Railway, and plenty of day hikes all around — the drive to Denver is also very reasonable.

The Lodge is the perfect balance of personal touch and non-interference; we felt as if we were staying in our own vacation home, but with the added benefit of a local contact. And on our second day, we showed up to find that someone had baked us a cake. True story.

S'mores, backgammon, and luxury rooms — what a great few days in Colorado.

Room Tip: The family suite is an incredible amount of space — four bunks, a queen-sized bed, a common area, an...

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at the lodge and it was perfect. The room had so many amazing details and was very cozy. We stayed in lower room of the carriage house. The check in was very easy and lots of fun. The care taker was very nice with lots of information. The firepit and the grounds are very well kept. We will for sure be staying here in the future again!

Room Tip: The pantry near the lake has great breakfast!

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Outlook Lodge on March 9th. We stayed in room #3 on the upper floor of the Carriage House. The check-in process was easy and even though no person to person contact was made, the email communication was friendly and informative. We particularly liked the layout and materials used in the room. It had: plenty of room for our luggage and extra bags (wine and foodstuffs); wooden floor and ceiling; a very nice and comfortable window seat; double sinks; tiled bathroom floor and shower; and a small compact refrigerator and coffee maker. This was perfect for us, especially as we prefer wooden floors to carpet and a large walk-in shower instead of a bathtub. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet and clean. Although we didn't use the Main Lodge areas that were available to us, we took a tour and were impressed by the beautifully decorated sitting and dining areas and the kitchen looked like it contained anything you would need to create a nice meal. This is a great place to stay, with plenty of hiking and state / national parks in the area.

My girlfriend and I were in desperate need of a weekend getaway. It had been a long while since we were able to escape our routines and get off the beaten path. We needed a romantic, secluded mountain getaway. Based on a friend’s recommendation, we booked a room at the Outlook Lodge in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. (just outside Colorado Springs). I had never heard of Green Mountain Falls, as it does not have a ski resort nor is it a widely publicized tourist city. In this way, the location was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Only a few miles outside of town is this charming, secluded mountain community with a boutique restaurant, a fun “mountain crowd” bar, and an ideal breakfast/brunch place with legendary cinnamon rolls. Furthermore, Green Mountain Falls rests directly against a mountain, and it has a variety of hiking trails that intersect, loop around, etc. In other words, the location was just perfect for what we wanted/needed.

Onto our accommodations, which, like the town of Green Mountain Falls, we went into somewhat blind. In short, the Outlook Lodge is a categorical gem when it comes to romantic, luxe, mountain lodging. Where to begin? I’ll start by saying the owners have done a phenomenal job with maintain and restoring the cabins over the years. Normally with older cabins, it’s just a given that the rooms will be drafty, creaky, etc. Not at the Outlook. The place has been restored with such care structurally, and cosmetically the whole place looks and feels like a staged photoshoot inside a mountain lodge design magazine. Kudos to the designers/contractors. Second, the place is equipped with everything you could ever need for a romantic weekend. Lots of fireplaces to snuggle up next to, comfortable and deep couches, great bathrooms, and an outdoor gas firepit equipped with Smores supplies!

All in all, this obscure lodge surpassed even my wildest expectations for our little weekend getaway, and I am very happy to giving the Outlook Lodge my complete endorsement as a romantic weekend destination.

We had a great time at the lodge. Room was just as it was presented online. Modern, clean and well appointed. We took advantage of the main lodge and had our Christmas Eve dinner there. The kitchen was modern and well equipped, including dining linens.

We will definitely stay at the lodge again. I can safely say that it is presently the best lodging available in Green Mountain Falls and probably Woodland Park.

The only recommendation I have is that the door to the Carriage House needs to be stabilized so that it does not rattle. It is adjacent to #3 and is pretty noisy when the wind is blowing.

Room Tip: Carriage House #3 has a great window seat, extra large for reading, etc. This room has double sinks...

Having never been to Colorado Springs (or Colorado for that matter), we were overwhelmed with options for hotels and lodges. The prices of the higher rated/reviewed hotels in the area were just astronomical ($2-400/night) or there was no availability for our just shy of a week long stay. After doing a little research of nearby towns, we stumbled upon Green Mountain Falls and it was then that we found The Outlook Lodge. After seeing the reviews on this forum we knew we had nothing to lose so we booked a room...and are so HAPPY that we did.

With each step that we made from our car, to the key lock box, through the carriage house and into our bedroom (Downstairs deluxe room), we fell deeper in love. The bed, pillows and linens were comfortable and soft. The furniture and fixtures were contemporary and gave the room a special lift. There was also plenty of room for storing all of our clothing, too (LOVED the drawers under the bed!). We met Tracy a little while after arriving and she gave us a great tour of the carriage house and main house. The tour she gave describing the history of the buildings as well as where all of the additional amenities were and how they worked (washer/dryer, fireplace/pit) was so helpful. Having access to a full kitchen was fantastic, too (pots, pans, beautiful dishes and glasses, double oven + stove top, large refrigerator, etc). All of these things made us feel like we were at a home away from home, certainly a feeling you do not get while staying at a hotel. That said, after taking a short trip downtown and passing by the other pricey hotels we had originally researched, we realized that we hit the jackpot by choosing The Outlook Lodge...seriously. If and when we return to Colorado Springs, we will most definitely be visiting here again and won't think twice. Best of Luck to you, Outlook Lodge and keep up the great work!

Room Tip: In order to get to the Downstairs rooms in the carriage house, you need to walk down an additional f...

The Outlook Lodge is beyond excellent. We spent a calm weekend here in September 2013 and were instantly captivated by it's charm. Upon arriving, the housekeeper told us all about the surrounding area, restaurants and really made us feel comfortable. The petit, Swiss-like town of Green Mountain Falls, had a surprising array of excellent restaurants, morning pastry selections and so on. We weren't expecting this at all because of its small size. After giving us a thorough tour of the lodge (and even other unoccupied rooms), the housekeeper even offered her phone number to us and made it known that we could text or call her with any questions we had. Apart from that, the place is impeccably designed. The lodge was originally built in the 19th century, but recently updated with contemporary design. The sheer talent of mixing the old-world charm with contemporary furniture and design was quite impressive and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We rented a room in the carriage house for $130 per night. This was quite reasonable considering other mediocre hotels in nearby Colorado Springs were around the same price. The amount of thought and design put into this places could rival 5-star hotels around the world, and the low price tag made us feel like we had made the best decision in choosing lodging. We were fully expecting that our bed wouldn't be made or receive new towels/linens daily, but were pleasantly surprised when we came back from a long hiking trip that our room had been serviced. The bathroom amenities were also a plus, they included very good quality soaps and lotions. It was also nice having the kitchen available for use. We spent one romantic evening with a bottle of wine preparing a nice bolognese sauce, complete with desert around the beautiful fire pit just outside the kitchen.

I really have nothing but good things to say about this place. It was so refreshing to know that places like this still exist, in the midst of chained, characterless hotels. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in the middle of the beautiful Rockies, the Outlook Lodge in Green Mountain Falls comes highly recommended!
