“The jewel of Halifax”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

If you ever decide to visit Halifax, N.S., please consider this small (8 room) hotel. Pick one of the third floor rooms overlooking the ocean. The left side one is larger. The location in the Eastern Passage is across the bay from Halifax. The Halifax waterfront is easily accessible by the "people ferry" near the hotel that runs back and forth all day. Driving into Halifax isn't far but isn't really necessary and parking is a problem. We found that we liked the small harbor by the hotel and spent most of our time perched on the upper balcony enjoying the sights and sounds of the little harbor. Sunsets especially were awesome. Boats of many kinds were moored here... fishing, lobstering, working, sailing, power, live-a-boards of various kinds. There are lots of small shops and at least 4 restaurants. Compared to Halifax prices, this hotel was a bargain and a hidden gem. The included breakfast was continental and plentiful. The hosts (mom and daughter) were very helpful and affable. There is no AC but ventilation across the corner room location was very adequate.

Room Tip: Third floor, left side, ocean view.

Stayed here for 2 weeks while on business. Couldn't ask for better accommodations. Tammy the Inn Keeper was very friendly and helpful. Great views right from your balcony of the fishermans village. Away from all the busyness of Halifax. Great, clean rooms. Lots of nearby places to have a stroll with your boo. You will love this place.

Greetings fellow Travelers!!
After staying many times at the Inn, I must say that Tammy the Innkeeper and all of the employees at the Inn were fantastic!! I felt very much at home and absolutely loved the view from my balcony of the fishing boats and the sea gulls. I must rank the Inn as an excellent B&B and a must do in Nova Scotia.
The rooms were very clean and there was more than ample parking. I enjoyed breakfast both indoors and out on the dock. The food was awesome and yummy, mostly home baked on the premises.
I met so many interesting people from all over North America and Europe, and enjoy that the Inn was so handy to dining, shopping and banking.
So much more to write about, but I assure you that your stay will be quite memorable!

Room Tip: Ask for a water view!!

The thing this inn has going for it is the fact that it is the only accomodations in Eastern Passage, period. There's noboby manning the front desk at night, so if you experience drunken rowdies down the hall as we did, there's nothing you can do about it. The walls of the inn are literally about 3 meters from the highway, so plan on earplugs. . The breakfast is mediocre, as is the attitude of management. Also, expect to rise at the same time as the sun. For window coverings they have the transparent $9 tab curtains sold by Ikea 20 years ago. Eastern Passage itself is charming and beautiful. Best bet is to drive out for the afternoon and stay in town overnight.

This Inn was wonderful. My boyfriend and I wanted a weekend by the ocean and for 155$ a night, we looked around online, and this Inn was absolutely and excellent choice. The inn owner is extremely nice, the rooms are gorgeous ( i recommend the sea breeze for a view of the harbor.) The room was spotless, and recently renovated. There are a few good local restaurants within walking distance as well. Warf wraps has amazing 10$ fish & chips, and Emma's makes great lunch/brunch, but avoid Boondocks, its overprices, the food is mediocre and the service is bad. There is lots to do, including beaches, and McNabb island, a virtually deserted island with forts to explore that you can get to for 12$. If your looking for a romantic laid-back place to relax, the Inn at fisherman's cove is the place to do it. As for nightlife, it is only a busride away to halifax, so since we are in our 20ies, it was nice to have the best of both worlds, I highly recommend it.

My Husband and I stayed in the Blue Heron room for one night. We arrived at the airport in Halifax late afternoon and stayed here before going to our rental cabin.

The hotel has 8 rooms and is outside of downtown Halifax in the small town of Eastern Passage - about 15 min by car. It is on the water overlooking a 200 yr old fisherman's village. Manager / owner is not on site but lives a couple blocks away and is always available. They were very friendly and helpful to us.

The room was small but nice. Very clean. It is the top (3rd) floor (4 rooms per floor - 2 in front, 2 in back), main level has reception, breakfast area, patio.

Bathroom - both tub and shower. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash in dispenser in shower (better for the environment than all those little bottles).

Breakfast included - cold breakfast - toast, oatmeal, pasteries, coffee, juice, cereal, tea etc. Everything was nice.

Internet - free WiFi was available.

We had a good night's sleep - bed was comfortable. No noise - traffic, or fishing (off season). Due to overfishing the government now limits how long different areas of the province can fish. The fishing limit for this area closed 2 weeks before we got there and moved to the north shore of the island instead.

The fishing village itself has a couple of restaurants, gift shops, art galleries. There is a small convenience store right next door to the inn but to do any real grocery shopping is about 5 min away by car.

Would be happy to stay here again next time I am in the area.

We stayed at the Inn on our last night in the Maritimes. Our room overlooked the wharf. It was so serene and peaceful. Our room was a bit snug but it didn't bother us at all. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast, met a few people who were also visiting. We enjoy meeting new people. We needed to book our seat on our flight home. Staff were extremely helpful in using their computer to make the arrangements online as we did not have a laptop with us.

We walked the boardwalk, visited the shops, enjoyed an amazing lobster roll at one place, and coffeed at another while visiting with friends. We totally enjoyed the fisherman who were visiting with one another further down on the docks, repairing their nets and boats and just generally goofing around. It's a fishing village with just enough of a tourist bent to satisfy every want and need without spoiling the authenticity of the place.

We absolutely loved the place and would visit again. It's my hope to make it out there again in 2009.
