We had a walk round Swinsty reservoir and then booked for a meal at the Timble Inn. The food was fantastic, we had a sunday roast with beef, lamb and duck, all were great! The atmosphere was buzzing, the service spot on and the wine top notch. I would definitely recommend this place!

My girlfriend and I spent last Saturday evening at The Timble inn and what a lovely experience it was. Very high quality rooms with every detail considered, dinner and breakfast were perfect and service to match. Highly recommended for an overnight stay or short break. For us it was a lovely treat!

Room Tip: We were in room 11 which at one end where the dressing room is located has a sloping roof, so not go...

We returned to The Timble Inn for another three night break and it was just wonderful! The inn is very stylish, the rooms luxurious and everything kept spotlessly clean. The food is absolutely fantastic, the staff lovely, the area is beautiful and the walks from the inn are pure rural tranquillity! Special mention to Lee and Ellie who both go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is perfect.

We were sad to leave but so looking forward to returning in March with friends!

Booked a 2 night stay 10th and 11th October on their 2 night special offer - bed breakfast and evening meal. Booked over the phone about a month in advance and given the option of 2 remaining rooms - we chose room 10, probably one of the best with a six foot bed. An e-mail was received to confirm our booking and deposit receipt. We arrived at about 5-30pm and was greeted by a young girl in the bar area (Sally?) and were made most welcome, offered some fresh milk and them taken to our room, which was most delightful and just what we had hoped for. We had the evening meals at 8-00pm both nights, the food was absolutely fantastic as was the service. Choice local beers and well priced wines. The breakfasts were hearty and also fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend THE TIMBLE INN to everyone - only wish we could afford to stay more ofter.

Room Tip: Room 10 is situated on the first floor of the building next door. We were also told that Room 8 is g...

I have eaten here before and could not fault it, good food great service, this time however it was like an episode of Faulty Towers !!

Firstly, left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing when sorting my initial booking, then as it was a special occasion we still decided to go but wish we had not. Starters bland, main course presentation seen better in a cafe !!

After having our main course - most of mine left not even a question on "how was your meal ?" Then the best part as it was a special night decided to let it go and have desert, we waited 25 minutes and still no one asked us or came to our table, we got up decided to leave.

On asking for the bill the girl serving us had just no idea NONE !!

Never going back

After a couple of weeks in Scotland we were making our way South in a gradual, rather than 'run the M6 Toll Road gauntlet' kind of way, staying at the Timble Inn for one night. We weren't acquainted with Nidderdale but quickly appreciated how lovely the surrounding area would be for walking, fishing or just relaxing during a longer stay. Harrogate, Ripon and Otley are all within an easy drive.

The Inn is in the tiny village of Timble, yet is a deluxe pub and restaurant with rooms individually decorated - all illustrated on their very good website. We chose room 8, which is towards the back of the building, though noise levels in any direction are barely perceptible. We were provided with a huge bed, lovely tweedy fabrics and furnishings, good books, armchairs, dressing gowns, lots of storage, bath and shower ... all gorgeous. Thoughtful details included a cafetiere and a jug of fresh milk on demand.

We quickly ordered some very fine Yorkshire beer and had a stroll around outside. The village hall is opposite and local produce was on sale via an honesty box, in aid of hall funds, which sums up the nice 'small community' feel. Our dinner table was made ready and, although last orders on a Sunday are c1800hrs and there was a biggish party in swing, we weren't rushed into choosing a delicious and hearty meal from a well-planned menu. Wine was also very good and reasonably priced. We chatted for a while to our restaurant 'neighbours' who were there for the weekend and were relaxed, fun folk who had stayed before.

Breakfast the following morning was also delicious, with lots of hot tea, and Eggs Benedict produced without an eyelid batted. Service was attentive and charming from our Yorkshire hosts. As I understand they are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays to permit regular deep-cleaning - an excellent idea. Great value for money for really high-quality accommodation and lovely food.

Room Tip: All rooms are well-illustrated and described on the website so be sure to be specific in your bookin...

We booked 2 nights with the special offer.
It is a delightful Inn situated between Harrogate and Skipton and is oozing with character.
We stayed in room 4 which was a wonderful room at the front of the inn with the most fantastic huge comfortable bed and a walk in wet room! The standard of all furnishings etc is extremely high with bathrobes and slippers as standard!
The package included a 3 course candlelit evening meal on each night and the menu is a delight.
The food is of a very high standard and we could not fault it - the breakfast menu is huge!!
The owners and their staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble to make our stay perfect in every way.
The only one downside of our stay was that we picked a Saturday and Sunday night and we would opt for Friday and Saturday next time. This is because the Inn closes down on a Sunday evening after the last diners have left (they only serve food on Sundays until about 6 o'clock) so after about 7.30pm we were the only ones left downstairs apart from one member of staff so no atmosphere at all! We will certainly return again.

Room Tip: Room 4 with walk in wet room was ideal for anyone with mobility problems.
