“Luxury in the Sangre de Cristos”
Reviewed 22 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Our accommodations in Hillside were top notch . . . . and surprisingly luxurious and high-end. The little cottages are fairly simply looking from the outside, but, WOW, the interior looked like some rich friend's onsite guest house, with high-end finishes and furnishings. Our floor plan was very functional. The kitchenette was stocked with spices and coffee. We loved the fact we could bring our dog along. If you want a quiet, beautiful retreat, this is the place for you. Quirky Westcliffe is 12 miles down the highway for a quick bite and shopping.

“Cottage with a view”
Reviewed 4 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at in the Knack for Nature cottage. This chic cottage's location is perfect for those looking for the peaceful tranquility of the rolling pastures and the awesomeness of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and the night sky is always breathtaking. Inside is tastefully decorated and provides all the amenities you may need. It is the perfect venue for your weekend getaway or weeklong destination.

“Beautiful Scenery, Well-Appointed Lodging”
Reviewed 23 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We just had our third stay at the Mountain Marvel cabin in Hillside, CO. Each stay has been perfect. The cabin has been beautifully remodeled and furnished, and everything needed for a stay is in place. Booking and access to the lodging is a simple and seamless process. The views of the surrounding Sangre de Christo mountains are spectacular. The cabins are close to the charming villages of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, where there are shops, restaurants, and fun activities. This lodging is highly recommended!

“Great for value”
Reviewed 14 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I loved the stay at this place, it has most of basic amenities such refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, even a crockpot! But the place is wonderful if you are looking to explore the Sangre de Christo mountains and want to be able to come to a place where you can shower and have a roomy stay. I definetly will be coming back and bring some additional friends and family to stay at the other cottages.

“Charming cabin, perfect setting”
Reviewed 9 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The cabin was just perfect, clever design and tastefully decorated. It stayed warm in snowy days of winter and the surrounding area is beautiful. Can't go wrong with these cabins. Bonus is that they are pet friendly for a minimal additional cost. The bathroom has a separate heater and very clean with nice toiletries and hair dryer. The bedding is lovely. The mini-kitchen has everything!

“Perfect Getaway Weekend For Small Family”
Reviewed 1 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

After searching for days for a place to stay near Westcliffe with our dog, we realized some of the Hillside Cottages allow pets. (Some sources said they didn't.) We were immediately sold! On the day we traveled there, we planned to hike during the afternoon, but high winds foiled our plans and we wanted to give our small baby a place to rest. I contacted Barb and she said it wasn't a problem for us to check in early.

Getting there from Westcliffe was as simple as following one road and "checking in" just involved using a keypad to open to door. So easy! Our cabin, Knack for Nature, was spotless and cozy. The one downside: The entry space was cramped, so you had to make sure someone (or a dog) wasn't walking down the hall when you tried to open the front door. No big deal, though.

There was space to set up a pack 'n' play for the baby and a kennel for the dog. The bed was comfortable. And the kitchen was perfect for making breakfast while enjoying some coffee.

We look forward to returning!

“Spotless”
Reviewed 4 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

A fantastic little cabin. Actually, more like a spiffy little house! The inside is all updated. Very comfortable bed, a small but highly functional kitchen and beautiful bathroom. Very well appointed. We went to spend the weekend exploring the Wet Mountain Valley and this made for the perfect place to chill out. It's an easy drive to Westcliffe and great access to the Rainbow Trail. The main sitting room is combined with the kitchen -- it's compact but very functional and a GREAT price.
