“Heavy Mountain Pies!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

After hiking at Grays, we wanted to get a good pizza on the way back to Denver. I read about this place, so this was it. It was late in the evening and it was somewhat crowded. It was hot in there, must have A/C issues or something. It was a little more comfortable in the bar area. We didn’t want an average pizza, something you can get anywhere… So we got a Mountain Pie, the Motherlode (3 pounder or I guess their large, 10 slices). It had Beau Jo’s pizza sauce, pepperoni, meatballs, Italian sausage, salami, ham and whole milk mozzarella cheese. This was $30, but cheaper than ordering a pie with individual toppings. This thing took about 40 minutes + to cook. She had to bring it out with two hands because it had to weigh more than 5 pounds! This fed the four of us (2 can eat a lot, 2 of us, not so much) and we had two slices to take home. Very heavy pizza of nothing more than meat, cheese and bread! It was little greasy/oily from all the meats. Very tasty! We had to eat it with a fork, just too heavy to pick up! We ate the crust with their honey… Good stuff! The pizza was very good and expensive, but we had to try it. If you’re in the area and want a good pizza, you need to try this place at least once. They had lots of different and cheaper options. I can’t say we will be back anytime soon if we had the option (just so much)...

“Great Western atmosphere, delicious pizza.”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs is a must whenever my family goes to Denver. Pizza is deliciuos, but pricey. I love the Tommy Knockers beer served cold in Mason jars, and we all love the soft crust with honey for dessert. Kacey was our server and she was excellent.

“Good food - fun stop for all”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

We enjoyed our visit to Beau Jo's. The food was really good and the atmosphere was casual - kids enjoyed as well as adults. I would recommend Beau Jo's when passing through Idaho Springs.

Maybe they have a good menu. All I know is that two take out pizzas (large) were expensive and the quality was just so-so. We are not sure what people rave about here.

“THE Place to eat in Town”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The Colorado Pizza (Soft & chewy thick crust that is great with honey) is the main attraction. But the western ambiance and friendly staff are plusses. The all-you-can-eat salad bar is arrayed in two bathtubs with a wide selection of fresh vegetables and fruits (and delicious chocolate pudding). It can be crowded on summer weekends or with returning skiers in the Winter. However, take the buzzer and stroll the town while waiting.
