“Wonderful hotel in great location”
Reviewed 21 August 2011

We stayed here for one night en route to a holiday in Beaver Creek - and from the moment we drew up outside - the experience was unforgettable!

Despite the fact that we were very early for check in, we were waved through by the valet parker, and welcomed by name as we approached the reception desk (great personal touch). Reception formalities complete, we were escorted to our room, and weren't disappointed by what we found! Our loft suite was well appointed and very luxurious, with a comfy sitting area (with sofabed and balcony) downatairs and a fabulous sleeping area upstairs.

The more energetic members set off to find the pool and spa while I lazed on the balcony in the sunshine.

We ate dinner in the main restaurant and the food was lovely - if a trifle over salted for our tastes - and a great value "eat all you like" buffet breakfast the next morning in the bistro - we were sad to have to leave.

However, be warned - this isn't a hotel for the budget traveller - with meals and drinks our one night cost the best part of $1000, so its a top of the range option for most. That said in terms of food, sevice and accommodation - you do get what you pay for and its worth it for a special occasion!

After 2 hot and stressful months in Florida, we could not have been at a better place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We had a large and very nice room with a balcony, but the closet space is limited and there is no air conditioning. Free wifi, valet parking was included. A beautiful pool and spa with steam and sauna. Nice restaurants on the property. A free shuttle runs between the hotels and restaurants. Beautiful area, wonderful walking and biking paths along the river. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a view. If you have walking difficulties, ask to be near elevators.

Just stayed one night for a conference. Got a King room with a loft. Very friendly, helpful hotel staff - just ask and you shall receive. I spend much more time in the mountains in the Winter vs. the Summer so this was a pleasant surprise. Everything you need is here at the hotel so it was perfect for a quick getaway - little coffee shop in the morning and an decent steakhouse on site (and other options available via short hotel shuttle). Only downside was limited pool hours - they close the pool/hot tub area at 10:00pm and they had to chase out probably 20+ people having a good time. Also, nice little wetbar in the room but no fridge - what's up with that? Such a nice room but skimp on such a basic thing?

A note on the loft rooms. The bed is in the loft and is accessed via a tight spiral staircase. Very cool until you have to go to the bathroom at 2am - then it's treacherously steep; I would not recommend this room type to my parents. I would also not recommend copious alcohol consumption while staying in this room - just sleep on the deck and listen to the river to go to sleep. Seriously, even cold sober I almost slipped going down the stairs and it would have been bad...

We stayed here in March during spring break and had a great time. The hotel is very nice and is located on a large skating lake. They have a great pool and spa. We enjoyed sitting in the outside hot tub surrounded by the snow while our son loved swimming in the outdoor pool. If you don't want to go outside you can enjoy the indoor spa. A shuttle comes by all day long to take you to the slopes. The shuttle was a real convenience for us. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at in the hotel and several restaurants around the lake as well.
We enjoyed this trip and the skiing was amazing! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our second stop in Keystone. Had a great lodgy feel and was large inside. A true ski lodge I would say. Great location to slopes and restaurants. We spent time on the ice skating ring outside as well. That was a blast!

We were very much satisfied with our short one night stay. Keystone Lodge is NOT the typical Colorado mountain resort with a "stuffy" attitude. The employee/associates were VERY attentive to our even minimal needs and their attitude towards their guests reminded my wife and I of the excellent people that work at our favorite resort; the Grand Hyatt on Poipu, Kauai. She and I stay at the Grand Hyatt regularly and the staff at the Grand Hyatt is beyond imagination. Well, the staff associates at the Keystone Lodge are very, very similar in their approach to their customers. We will be spending a few weekends at the Keystone Lodge in the future.
The views were excellent, the room and deck were great and the Big Horn Steakhouse staff were excellent as well as the steaks! As good or better as any "name brand" steak house in the city.

Thank you very much!

Room Tip: Best rooms and largest decks are on the 5th floor.
