“Lovely, peaceful site”
Reviewed 21 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We arrived mid week and stayed for 2 nights. The site was very quiet (we didn't see another soul throughout our stay). The yurt was very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen and shower room were clean and well-equipped. The area outside the yurt includes a fire pit, hammock, deck chairs, table and chairs and is set in a private wooded area including fruit trees (and a gooseberry bush!). There's a small stream flowing on the other side, adding to the peaceful sounds from the birds and the sheep.

There was a plentiful supply of logs, kindling and fire lighters for the stove inside the yurt and the outside fire pit. It may be an idea to have some seasoned hardwood for the stove as it would burn more efficiently (and safely) than the unseasoned soft wood provided (which is more suitable for the outside fire). The yurt roof cover did seem to have an abnormal amount of mould on the inside but it didn't affect our stay too much (perhaps this could be replaced/cleaned?).

A pleasant and comfortable stay in a lovely, peaceful place.

Many thanks for your kind words - we have a new canvas on order that will have two layers; one a canvas inner and a pvc outer to improve water repellence. We tried unsuccessfully to clean the canvas over the winter, so we have ordered a replacement from the original manufacturer.

“Perfect Safari Tent - everything we had hoped - just perfect!!!”
Reviewed 20 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

A beautiful, stunningly furnished tent - that slept 2 grown ups, and 4 children and a big dog very comfortably.
Little touches like' firewood included (please don't take advantage)', and 'help yourself to the lawn mower - it helps me out' add to the wonderful feel of the place - welcoming, trusting, friendly. The location is great - a beautiful part of the island - you'll struggle to find a bit that isn't beautiful. Great value. I'd recommend the tent to 2 x couples, families, and the yurt to small families or a couple - they're just great!

“Not so peaceful now.”

We (2 adults and 1 child) have just returned from a two week holiday at Anglesey-Yurts. We booked the yurt for its peace and quiet, convenient location and good amenities. The experience was lovely for the first week however the owner of the site has now opened a second accommodation (a Safari Tent), some 30 yds from the yurt garden.

In our opinion this has now effected the lovely experience that was on offer with a single yurt. The sense of isolation is now lost because we can now here other people talking, dogs barking etc in the evenings. The Safari Tent also has very limited grassed area around it so I would expect families with children staying there in the future may spill over to land near the Yurt.

There is usually nobody around to manage the site during the day/evenings to sort out possible problems should they happen.

It is such a shame because without the Safari tent there, we would have had no hesitation in re-booking next year (I would even had paid more money for the experience).

Some tips for the owner and/or people deciding to stay there:

We took a tarp with king-poles, pegs, guylines etc to create a covered area outside for when it rains (the only other option is to stay in the Yurt). This was brilliant because we could still sit around the fire on a rainy evening. Maybe the owner could create something similar?

There is a clothes line present however it never gets the sun/breeze because of the trees. We took a length of para cord and built our own in a more suitable spot.

The area around the fire gets very slippy in the wet and could do with maybe some gravel putting down. We just moved the yurt door mats to this area to prevent us from slipping into the fire.

The yurt could do with lots of TLC. There is lots of mould inside on the covering and I suspect it may not be dry stored properly over the winter months. Also rain water gets into the yurt around the perimeter (something I have never experienced staying at other yurts).

I hope that helps!
Thanks

“Fantastic. Five-star glamping in perfect peace and privacy.”

Brilliant. We'd been glamping before, but this was something else. A lovely secluded spot, fenced off with a gate (very handy for kids and dogs!). There's only one yurt, so complete privacy - and with its own spotless bathroom and kitchen with all mod cons, just a few yards away. And the yurt is stunning - beautiful interior and loads of great touches like the fairy lights, wood-burning stove etc. Our kids particularly loved the hammocks outside the yurt! It's a perfect base for exploring the island, with the beautiful Church Bay beach only a brisk 20 minute walk. Dave couldn't have been a more helpful and welcoming host. All in all, a fantastic experience.

We had a lovely time at the Yurt. Everything was so well cared for and the orchard was beautiful- especially with the fairy lights. Our 3 and 5 year olds loved it- and really didn't want to leave! Looking forward to a return visit next year,

“Perfect family retreat”

Absolutely fantastic! I really can't rate highly enough. The yurt is in a tranquil and beautiful setting (at least it was quiet until we arrived), private bathroom & kitchen facilities and Dave is a friendly welcoming host. We have already enquired for next year. 5 of us stayed in the yurt (2 adults, 3 older children-ages 13,10 & 8) and there was plenty of room. Its the perfect choice if you want to escape and remember how to spend time together as a family without modern technology distractions! Also brought out the caveman in hubby who built fires inside and out every evening. The kids have room to play and loved every minute. Fabulous base to explore Anglesey....highly recommended for all!!!! See you again
