We recently bought a larger trailer so we tried Eleven Mile Reservoir because it had larger pull in camping spots. We camped in Rock Ridge Loop D Space 90, but it looked like it was pretty much the same situation in Loops A, B and C. The camping spots are within 10 feet of your neighbor. You can hear them breathe! Luckily, we only had neighbors on one side, however across the gulch were the campers in loop C. Every space was taken and one even had a generator that ran most of the night. Sounded like someone mowing their lawn all evening and early the next day. No park rangers ever told them to turn it off. If you are looking for a place to fish and boat, or for a family reunion and you want to be around loads of people, it might be the right place. We were just used to going camping to get AWAY from people, kids etc. We usually go on federal land. Thankfully we were only there one night and left early the next day.

The park rangers were all great! The little miss know-it-all in the office was horrible! She treated my husband who is a disabled veteran terribly. She argued with him over being disabled and able to use a handicap campsite. She argued with the hours posted on google for their location, she argued with us about the campsite we wanted to move to. She is TERRIBLE. She put a huge damper on our whole experience. Whoever hired the lady in the office with the glasses should be ashamed of themselves. She was pathetically disrespectful and should not work in customer service. We have been coming here for over 8 years and have NEVER been treated so poorly!

This place sucks! your kids can't wade in the water or swim. You paid for your reservations but you have to pay additional fees to shower......you will get harassed by Parks and Wildlife, as a resident and bi-standard we witnessed this harassment and were harassed. This is not a family friendly environment when you kids have to see this.....we saw first hand parks and wildlife yell at people and take fishing poles 4 times, they did not control the situation or take into consideration the people and children around the camp ground when they repeatedly did this. We were cited $52 for riding our rzr 10mph for less than five minutes to the showers, we were not speeding and had seat belts on, No warring at all. There are so many better places in CO I will go to. Don't waste your time and money on this spot.

The scenery at the Witcher's campground was amazing. With anything there are pros and cons. In other reviews talks about ants and the area is literally covered in ants, if you stop at any spot for more than 10 seconds you will have ants on you. The camping spots are spacious and beautiful whether looking at the rolling green hills or looking at the lake. Be advised no matter where you camp there are roads that go right by your campsite with traffic day and night.

Spent $10 extra to reserve camping spot online as we were going to have a later arrival. Arrive go into the office to pay for the day pass. The front desk people have no idea who may or may not have a reservation or where it may be. We go to locate our reserved campsite to find that someone else had set up camp. This would not have been frustrating had we not paid $10 extra to get the camp site. When we went back to the front office to make sure we were good just taking a vacant camp site luckily there were vacant spots or else we would of had to turn back home. Yes I do agree with previous posts that there are a lot of ants. I agree to an extent that this is just part of the great outdoors but the site we ended up with they were AWFUL. If I stood still for more than 30 seconds I would get a bite on my foot or leg. My dog wouldn't even lay on the ground and ended up spending most of the evening on the picnic table to get away from the biting. However, the scenery is beautiful, weather was perfect, and facilities were clean.

If you like beautiful sunsets, lake access, good fishing, and quiet camping then this is the place. As Eric C said bugs, ants etc are part of the outdoors so be forewarned. If you cant handle that then get a hotel, this is not the place for you. The campgrounds are mostly all open with no shade but I believe with some hiking you can get into the more remote camp sites if available.

We dry camped with our travel trailer at a site right on the lake. The campground is pretty standard for a state park. The fishing is great. We stayed in the Witcher's Cove area which is a long drive from the main camping area. That had it's plusses and minusses. Relatively few other campers close by but it was 20-30 minutes to get to the nearest store. We might return for the fishing but that we be the only reason to go back.
