I heard that CPK was now serving gluten free pizza and they were taking great precautions to avoid cross-contamination, etc. My family planned a trip to our closest location to check this out. My two children and I all have Celiac Disease, so we are super excited when we can eat out safely. Upon arriving, we looked for these gluten free pizzas on a menu- nope, not there. We asked our server about them and she told us that any pizza can be made gluten free. I don't think this is the case from what I saw on their website and what I read on about ten various articles. They have specific toppings that are GF. Sigh. I couldn't recall what they were since I thought that the location would have this under control (I had even called this specific location in advance to make sure).
We tried to go safe with mushrooms and sausage. Perhaps the sausage was not a safe choice in hindsight? We checked out three tables to see if they had gluten free pizza menus and they did not. I suppose we should have checked a fourth because the family next to us had a GF menu out and were ordering from it as we left.
I think you can see where this is heading...We became ill within 15 minutes of eating that pizza. It tasted fairly good though. Is it worth trying again? Not for us. I'm still sick (a day later). It's just not worth the pain.
I will mention that it took us almost a full hour to get our one pizza. That's all we ordered.
