“Hidden Jewel in Lamar, CO”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

We stayed at the B&B over the Christmas holidays. Jane tastefully decorated her entire home for the holidays, including our suite. Jane is a wonderful inn keeper/host, a fantastic cook, and has a special charm that made us feel like family. She asked when we would like breakfast and had it ready for us each day. She makes the best coffee and left us home-baked treats each night. She stocked the refrigerator in our room with drinks daily. She welcomed us to her home and we will definitely return the next time we visit family in Lamar. We've stayed in several establishments in Lamar. Jane's B&B is by far the best. Our suite was spacious, clean, and a home away from home. We found this B&B to be a hidden jewel in Lamar.

Room Tip: The first floor suite had a living room, bedroom, and an updated bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Lin...

I have not stayed at 3rd Street, but I have taken my staff for an evening supper there recently, and was blessed with a great meal-pork loin, prime rib and other delicious food, served well and carefully. Jane Felter does a super job of making everyone welcome, and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a well restored period home in Lamar.

Jane's cheese cake is superb also, we ordered pumpkin and blueberry-creamy, rich and just brilliant overall. Her bedrooms are well restored, neat. clean and tidy, and her overall service great. I have friends who have booked their parents into 3rd Street because of Jane's great service and reputation.

Room Tip: Whether visiting for a family or other special occassion meal, book in advance, and Jane will work w...

What a charming and lovely old house. Turn-of-the-century antiques are throughout. Jane is a wonderful person and will ensure your stay is peaceful and nice. It is hard to drive away from this special retreat.

Room Tip: I stayed in an upstairs room that was quaint and lovely. The enormous bathroom was just outside the...

Since our son is attending nursing school in Lamar, we have stayed in town often to visit him. For this trip, we decided to try this B and B. The price was very comparable and it was so much nicer than the motels in which we have stayed. Not only did we have a bedroom, but a nice little living area. Jane, the owner, had a treat waiting for us when we checked in as well as some cool drinks in our refrigerator. She goes to work early on weekdays, but left us a delicious breakfast with lots of choices. My only warning is that she does have a cat, so if you are allergic, take you medication with you. The cat was not anywhere near our room, but he is in the common rooms, so I did feel a little itchy.

Room Tip: The room on the main floor is a suite and the room upstairs is a single room with a bathroom right n...

What a great find! Jane, the owner, was so welcoming and made us feel like we were staying at the home of a good friend. The whole place was spotless, and I have very high standards when it comes to cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great, and wait 'til you see the garden! It, alone, is worth the price of admission. Thank you, Jane. You are a treasure!

Jane, the owner, was very welcoming and her place was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the whole house was enjoyable. It's just a few blocks from the center of town but it was very quiet. Jane also helped us pick a good dinner place and told us of the different sites to visit in the area.

Lamar doesn't have the best options for a woman to stay at by herself and feel comfortable. I researched options and found 3rd Street Nest B&B. I had never stayed at a B&B so I was unsure of what it was going to be like. Jane was SOOO nice, very warm and inviting! I had notes in the morning telling me to have a great day and ended up coming back to a clean room and fresh snacks that were amazing. I would stay there again if I had to go back to Lamar
