One always looks for a 'local' place to eat instead of the chains. Doug's was recommended to us as being such a place and, as far as the menu goes, it did not disappoint. Not your usual fair with a heavy South of the Border influence. A varied menu with the usual favorites scattered amongst unique creations using such items as chilies, chorizo and the like. Fresh produce and jams to boot. And, yeah, those grilled biscuits were pretty danged good.
The only issue we (and other diners there at the time) had was the temperature of the food. Either they need to do a better job getting all the food prepped at the same time or invest in a heat lamp to keep things warm. Some of our food was luke warm while another diner sent their breakfast back to be reheated. They weren't terribly busy, so volume was not the issue.
That's not enough to keep us from going back though!
