“Excellent hospitality”
Reviewed 10 May 2012

All we can say is that Bob and Sue are wonderful hosts. They are warm and so hospitable. Sue's breakfasts are hearty and loaded with fresh fruit. Bob keeps your coffee cup full. We have an 8 month old and they went out of their way to provide a booster seat, sippy cup and munchies for the little guy. Mesa Verde was spectacular as was the Anasazi museum recommended to us by Bob. The B&B has big lawns with lots of areas to sit outside and read a book or sip a glass of wine while taking in the view. Oh, and Zuma is an awesome little organic grocer that makes the best lattes ever.

We stayed here while spending time visiting the region's cultural parks and other natural wonders of southwestern Colorado. It was great, fabulous setting near some of the region's most cherished places--Mesa Verde, Canyons of the Ancients, and more. We stayed in the guest house, which was perfect for our family (grandparents, kid, dog, and us two). Very nice to have the kitchen, the porch, and the views to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring. Reasonably priced, although certainly higher than the low end, but worth every penny. To top it off, Bob and Sue were incredibly accommodating and really put the effort into making sure their guests got a top notch experience. We will be coming back and recommending the place to our friends.

We very much enjoyed our stay with Bob and Sue in their lovely and comfortable lodge. They were so helpful suggesting the Millbrook Junction for dinner and routes for our next destination. They provided snacks and drinks to welcome us and great homemade buttermilk, corn waffles, fruit, bacon, coffe and juice for breakfast. Our room was private and included all the amenities we needed. It is in Mancos and about a 20minute ride to Mesa Verde. Since we are not hikers, we were able to drive through the park, visit the sites that were less than a mile walk and get to the lodge before dinner. The next morning we headed out by 9 am to our next destination. Should of, and would have, booked a minimum of two nights but there was no availabilty. If you love inside cats and a visit by a couple really sweet dogs, you'll feel right at home here. The pets were never a nuisance.

First of all, the main lodge is beautiful, and I'm sure the guest cabins are just as nice. We stayed in the main lodge for 4 days, and just loved the place and the B&B owner/operators. Bob and Sue are so nice, helpful with suggestions about attractions around Mancos and Durango, and Sue makes the best breakfast! The lodge is beautifully decorated in traditional log home fashion. You can see the "sleeping Ute" mountain from the porch, and the hot tub or sauna are nice ends to busy days. Will definitely go back!

This was a dream! The location and the buidling itself were perfect for our needs and the hosts cannot be faulted or bettered I doubt. Interesting and interested people who really put body and soul into making us feel welcome. Even the pets were friendly!

Sundance bear was a great place to unwind far from the sounds of the city. I loved the stunning location overlooking Mesa Verde and the La Plata Mountains. The property was large and I enjoyed walking around and exploring. Sue and Bob were friendly, had good local tips and obviously loved sharing their homes.

Room Tip: The log cabin is sweet, mountainy and has an incredible view off the back porch.

You never quite know what to expect, but this B&B delighted the 3 of us...fabulous location, terrific host and hostess, so relaxed and comfortable, and what special breakfasts! The cats and dogs made us feel right at home; that Morris especially. We'd all love to have an excuse to visit again and maybe we just will. Sandy, Ann, and Shelley
