There was hair on the bathroom floor - tuck! The netted tub had that pink mold growing in all of the jet intentions. Something crumbly was in the bed - had to pull covers all the way off to brush it all off! The two sitting chairs in the room were filthy dirty and really needed cleaning. Right next to the bed was a VERY large dark stain on the carpet. I wore my socks the entire time and they ended up dirty on the bottom from walking on the carpet. And, no HD TV-really!! I will say the guys doing the valet were wonderful and both times I called the front desk they were extremely helpful. However the help in the dining room Monday morning is another story. You pay a fee of $9 per person for the "complimentary" breakfast. It us supposed to be for service, which they do NOT provide.

We stayed here for one night this summer and loved it! Our first choice was the Broadmoor but they were booked for one of the nights we needed so we stayed at the Cliff House instead. It was lovely and we're glad we were able to experience both hotels, even though you really can't compare the two. The Cliff House is a beautiful inn with very comfortable and charming rooms. We ate dinner that night in their restaurant and the meal was outstanding and very reasonable! My only advice for the Cliff House is that it's time to upgrade your TV's to flat screens. Our old TV didn't even work but this didn't bother us since we were only there one night. Other than that minor blip, we would definitely stay here again!

We were looking for a place to splurge for a night and the Cliff House met the bill. Manitou Springs is a very cool town to visit with many interesting stores and an abundance of activities. From the moment we parked in front and had the valet take the car and hotel staff help us with the bags, it was obvious that this is a high end service hotel.

We spent a night in the Buffalo Bill suite which was amazing. In the picture of the hotel from the front, the room is under the spire on the left. The ceiling in the room is probably 30 feet high as the top part of the room has been painted and decorated to resemble the inside of a tee-pee. It was interesting and fun to stay there.

There were many amenities in the room including spa tub and even heated toilet seat which I imagine could be very nice in the winter. Room service was good with excellent deserts. I'm not sure how much I would have enjoyed a regular room for the price, but this suite was definitely a fun experience to stay in. I wouldn't stay there again due to price, but we really enjoyed our romantic evening in this one of a kind suite.

The only downside to the suite was that the bed was a queen due to the curvature of the room and the beds placement in front of the windows. That was a bit disappointing given the brice.

We stayed at the cliff house during our daughter's wedding. The rehearsal dinner was at the hotel and they did a wonderful job from presentation to taste. The hotel itself is charming and romantic with its front porch and beautiful back patio with a pit fireplace. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious ,especially for an old hotel. The Cliff house is well maintained and really beautiful inside. The shops, taverns and hiking trails are all within a few steps of the hotel. A full buffet breakfast is included - delicious! Free self parking is also available.

My wife and I stayed six nights at the Cliff House Hotel during our recent Colorado vacation. Originally we were only going to spend three nights and then move on to another town in the area. We enjoyed Cliff House and quaint Manitou Springs so much that we decided to extend our stay and use Cliff House as a "home base" for day trips to points as diverse as the U.S. Air Force Academy and Royal Gorge. The Cliff House is an old, small hotel but dripping with charm, history and personality. Hotel walls are lined with photos of the hotel, staff and ownership throughout the years; a museum tour in itself. Larger suites are named for notable people who have stayed there (e.g. Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, Clark Gable). Manitou Springs is loaded with small shops, restaurants and narrow (sometimes one-way) streets.

Our deluxe suite was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning system was noisy and the unusual thermostat allowed too wide a temperature variation before switching on and off. The gas fireplace added ambiance and warmth on a few cooler nights. The windows do open to bring in fresh breezes. The heated toilet seat was an unexpected feature and I imagine it would be very welcome in winter. Beautiful plush robes are provided. We liked them so much we bought two to bring back with us.

The formal restaurant off of the lobby serves morning complimentary breakfast (buffet) and is a wonderful place to begin each day. We had one dinner in the restaurant which was outstanding. Their wine list is huge. Service was great. The hotel is attached to a lounge/casual restaurant and also has a nicely equipped workout room.

A covered porch spans the entire width of the hotel front. One half of the porch is set with tables for four. The other half has sofas facing each other with a cocktail table between. The porch is a perfect spot for morning coffee, an evening cocktail or just relaxing. Meals are also served on the porch.

The staff was friendly and omnipresent. Several courteous young men were always at the main door to open it, help with luggage, retrieve one's car, etc. Our highest compliments go to Juana, the front office manager. Her personality is warm and her smile infectious. She really made us feel at home.

When next in the Colorado Springs / Manitou Springs area we will definitely be staying at the Cliff House.
