Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Discovered in 1881, Cave of the Winds has been a premier Colorado attraction for more than a century. Explore amazing caverns, experience total cave darkness, and marvel at the beauty of formations hundreds of thousands of years old. Then step outside and walk on the wind on the Wind Walker Challenge Course, fly like a bat on the Bat-a-Pult Zip Line, and dive into Williams Canyon on the one of a kind aerial dive ride, the TERROR-Dactyl. Lots of family fun, amazing views and memories to last a lifetime!

My husband and 13 year old son and myself really enjoyed this event. We went on the discovery tour and loved it! We got to see the wonderful cave formations and our guide explained how they were created and much of the cave history. It was a great time with a great guide!

We have toured the Cave of the Winds before, but my daughter is a speelunker at heart, so we went again. You need to be able to walk up and down stairs and inclines. Otherwise, it is an interesting tour for all ages.

We wanted to do the Lantern tour, but it was a 2 hour wait, so we did the Lantern tour. We where not disappointed, I think the lights on gives you a better view of all the beautiful formations. Our guide was very good & made the tour very entertaining

We did the regular tour while visiting. The walkways are well maintained and we didn't find it too difficult to navigate the cave and caverns. Many beautiful areas both inside and outside of the cave. Would have loved to have done the terrordactyl ride, but couldn't talk my boyfriend into it. We watched several riders and they all looked like they had a great time. There is a gift shop with a wonderful variety of souvenirs. There is also a snack bar available and the employees we encountered there were fantastic.

We decided to do the lantern tour instead of the discovery tour and it did not disappoint. Our tour guide Brian was awesome. He was an excellent story teller and me and my family (husband, sister & kids 13 & 9) enjoyed it so much. There are some tighter spaces but they weren't bad at all.As long as you aren't scared of the dark this tour is a must esp. if you love a good ghost story. You will have chills after hearing and experiencing the cave in candlelight. We also googled everything we were told and it is true so be prepared for Nellie to blow out your candle!!
