“Great value & clean room!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2013

Usually I avoid motels because my experiences have been that they are outdated and dilapidated, but this motel changed my mind. The room was clean and decorated in neutral colors, and the owner was very nice. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. It is not a luxury hotel, but I would recommend it to anyone looking to save some money and have a comfy night sleep!

Was touring the Colorado Springs area, using Manitou Springs as a 'home base'. Made reservations over the phone with the manager, who said there were rooms available for the night we wanted to stay there.

Well, one night turned into three; we were very pleased with the quality of the rooms, and the great information about the area was given over a few cups of fresh coffee in the lobby. We discussed the local area attractions, weather, living conditions, etc.

Highly recommended - we will stay here again on our next visit to the area.

My husband and I stayed 2 years ago for a couple of nights in the Eagle Motel and felt instantly at home : the rooms are spacious and very clean, comfortable and cozy. There is of course air conditioning (and heating) and free Wi-Fi and a coffee machine. Extra plus point : the windows can be opened in front and in the bathroom and toilet, so that you have a cross-breeze. The location is perfect, downtown MS is an easy walk. The owner is a treasure trove of information on the region and very kind and helpful. This is a motel you want to come back to, which we did recently (from Oct 5 to Oct 9, 2012) and were as enchanted now as we were 2 years ago, and we are sure to come back again! We just love to be there.

We found a room very clean, and a quiet place. Motel location is perfect! The owner is friendly, a pleasure to have a conversation with him! No refrigerator or microwaves, but....who cares, with those beautiful trails to hike?! Definitely we will stay here again!

The single room is spacy and clean with an air conditioning, TV and a phone. Location is convenient for making excursions to the local national parks. Supermarket is few minutes away, as well as the Manitou Springs city center. The owner is totally friendly and helpful at giving tips on how to get to a point of interest. Motel is situated close to the road, but traffic ceases in the evening and it is quiet in the night. The place has an old fashioned touch. I recommend it for a budget holidays' stay.

Room Tip: From the terrace upstairs one can get to see sunsets behind the mountains.

The rooms at this motel are clean and well equipped (good amenities) but the experience was ruined by a rude older manager/owner that lied to our face and then jacked up our price.

We called a few hours before arriving and confirmed a $65 rate. When we arrived we said we'd called earlier and he said no, we had not. He'd been there all day and he didn't get a call. We informed him that, well, actually we did call. He then looked us in the face and said "there's no reason to lie".

Unbelievable! This man thought it was okay to greet his guests by calling them liars. I didn't get fussy but casually pulled out my iPhone and showed him his number in my call list, explaining that I had called at 5.32 earlier today. He didn't seem to understand and insisted we hadn't called. He then said "I'll give you a room though." As if we were SO lucky to get to stay there. He gave us a double queen room for $70, more than what he had promised us a few hours earlier.

Either this is a scam to jack up the prices a bit, or this owner is a hopelessly rude and stubborn man. Either way, I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Side note - the seemingly cozy hot tub area pictured is in reality a small shack located pretty much on the highway so there would be no way to feel comfortable there. It was closed when we were there, anyway.

As others have said, it is an "old style" family owned and operated motel. We found it to be very clean and quiet. The owner is a personable gentleman. You will enjoy a conversation with him. He knows the area and can give you excellent ideas for restaraunts and things to see in the area. We would stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: We asked for a second floor room. It was very quiet.
