We stayed in the Chambre Aubergine for 2 nights. The location of the chateau is perfect for exploring the region, the Route du Cidre and the coast. The room itself is decorated in the classical style of the chateau and was very comfortable.
The owner Mark was very friendly and helpful and he prepares a wonderful breakfast with croissants, baguettes and good coffee.
Dining tips (partly from Mark): Les Forges in Beuvron-en-auge and Au p'tit normand in Cambremer.
Highly recommended!

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely little chateau. Mark was an excellent host and the breakfast was a great start to each day. The room was warm, modern and comfortable. A very enjoyable stay and would happily stay here again.

We stayed in Chambre Aubergine at Chateau Launay for two nights in early October. Mark Janssen is a very friendly and welcoming host and I believe, in time, this will become a top notch B&B. He has made a good beginning. We enjoyed our stay and had no real complaints, but I will go into detail so you can decide if it will work for you.
The breakfast is superb, heartier and with greater variety than we encountered at most B&B's. It is served in the only ground floor room that guests have access to, a nice dining room in this very old and elegant house. There were various cold cuts, excellent cheeses, good breads, both savory and sweet. Excellent jams, great yogurts, good butter, cereals, juices, teas and an expresso machine so coffee is on demand. Mark will make fresh eggs and bacon if you desire. He is eager to accommodate your needs and speaks excellent English. We enjoyed interesting conversation with him and the Dutch and English guests we met there.
Our room was on the second (first French) floor. The French queen size bed (160x200) was comfortable and larger than an American queen size, so that those of us who are accustomed to an American king size mattress were still comfortable. Bed linens are nice. The bathroom is very modern with a nice fully enclosed shower, but the room is small with the sink, shower and toilet all in one space in case you are looking for something large. Towels were fine, but, if I remember correctly, there were no washcloths (not unusual). There is a hairdryer.
We appreciated the cleanliness. Our room was nicely decorated. There is a flat screen TV. You have easy access to electrical outlets. We appreciated that WIFI Internet was free and there were bottles of water thoughtfully provided for our use. A coffee/tea maker was in the room. The room size, although adequate was a bit tight if you have several pieces of luggage to open simultaneously.
In general, the house was smaller than I thought it would be but we simply needed a good place to sleep and have breakfast. We were not planning on lounging around the premises. We love old places and had no problem, but some might find the entry hall with the very dark wood, creaky floors and closed-off rooms that allowed little light less than welcoming. Also, the extremely friendly dog's cage is located at the end of this hall, a bit unsightly for a "chateau". Again, not a problem for us, but needs correcting for guests to unanimously rate this as 5 star. I know the owners have plans to continue to improve this antique property in time and it will become more of a "destination".
The rural location is safe and parking is on the premises. We did enjoy our stay and would return again if we are in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B.

Chateau de Launay is welcoming and friendly. The owners go out of their way to assist guests by making dinner reservations and offering local information. Do not be concerned when your GPS says the address can not be found. The address is 5 Rue Ecoles; the GPS will only accept 2. Just follow the road until you see the sign for the Chateau. Breakfast is marvelous.

We stayed in the Chateau de Launay for 2 nights during Easter time. From the moment we arrived at the place, we were very impressed. The place is based in a beautiful rural quiet location yet still close enough to all attractions and lovely towns such as Cambremer. We felt very welcome by Mark & Vallerie (and their puppy), who did everything to make us feel comfortable. They were always there when we needed to ask anything and gave us plenty of tips to plan our days.
Breakfast was also great, with so much variety of food and fresh bread from bakery every morning. The coffee was also great and our little boy appreciated the warm milk as well as the attention received by his hosts.
Wonderful! We would definitely recommend this place!

You can be sure of a very warm & friendly reception at this special small, exclusive b & b located in a chateau which we understood to have probably been an old hunting lodge. The rooms were well appointed and we particularly liked the mods cons in the the modern, nicely tiled bathrooms. On the evening of our arrival we were made to feel really at home by the host and got some great recommendations to eat, there being nothing on the premises of course. Parking was not an issue at all. As we were the only guests we enjoyed an exclusive, candle lit breakfast and our host was able to share further tips on visiting a Calvados making facility in the vicinity. Our youngest member of the party was relieved to have wlan for that essential internet access required both most kids under the age of 80 nowadays. He made up for the lack of desk in the room by putting his lap top to its rightful use - on his lap.
Certainly a great place & thoroughly recommended, particularly now that the owners have added a signpost to help find the place :-)

We had a perfect stay at this B&B while exploring Normandy for a week! It has been a pleasure to be heading back to this wonderful place which is nicely situated in the French countryside.
Each morning a great breakfast from our excellent host Mark.
We had the pleasure to stay in the "Aubergine room" Very beautiful and with a comfortable and modern bathroom.

We can highly recommend Chateau de Launay and we would love to revisit this place at some point in time.
