We arrived in Montrose after a long (to me) and very winding drive from Mesa Verde. I was tired and hungry. So on the suggestion of the front desk at our hotel (and a quick check on Yelp), we walked over to Ted's.
It was a weeknight and the place was about 85% full so that was a good sign. We were seated immediately and that made my hungry tummy very happy.
We started with the stuffed mushrooms. Four large mushrooms stuffed with spinach, sausage & cheese. The stuffing was very good. The mushrooms themselves could have been seasoned a bit with garlic at least as they were a bit bland.
I had the Filet... with fries. Don't judge me, I was craving fries okay. The filet was tender, nicely charred and cooked to medium as ordered. It was quite tasty. My fries were very good too, in case you're wondering.
My husband had the Tuscan Stuffed Chicken. The chicken is stuffed with sausage & sun dried tomatoes. It is topped with a delish brandy cream sauce. I only got a small taste because my husband inhaled it. It was very good.
The entrees come with soup or salad. Plus they give you a complimentary (2bites) piece of yummy cake. I'm a dessert person. Although I would have enjoyed a full size dessert, the mini was just enough to satisfy.
Our server was ok. Polite and efficient. Someone was always refilling our water and promptly clearing plates. The owner, Ted, personally checked on tables. It is a fairly casual restaurant with paper napkins and plastic condiment containers. They cater to both tourist and locals, with obviously many regulars. Their menu prices are quite reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality/value.
