This place was built in the 50s, so don't expect the sterile, huge rooms of the Hilton. However, the gardens and pool area are spectacular, the rooms are comfy enough, and the whole place is thoroughly enjoyable. A great bargain, we thought.

Nice, Very Clean Hotel, Pool, Hot-tub, great morning coffee!

Stayed in the Alpine Room - comfortable beds, very Clean. Jennifer and Jeff - great owners. Extra friendly, good people, and helpful with information. Lots of character in the facilities and sure beats the hotel chains! Jennifer - my son still tells everyohe about your gift and we will be back to use it!

My husband and i travel quite a bit and whenever we are close to Montrose this is the place we stay.
Everyone is always always friendly, the rooms are cool as hell. The grounds are kept up with beautiful flowers and the pool is always crystal clear

A complete change from the standard chains. This is a 1950's motor lodge with the original cast iron tub and a scale that folds out of a compartment in the bathroom wall. They rooms are spacious and have been decorated in various themes. We stayed in the "Lodge Room" which is a two room suite with wood paneling and 3 queen beds. Again, this is not a drywall and glass chain hotel. It has "character". Know what you are getting. If you are into the generic and predictable, this isn't the place for you, but if you like meeting the owners and their Black Lab when you enter the lobby and being handed an actual metal key to a room key, you will love the Country Lodge.

Room Tip: Call the motel for reservations rather than booking on the web. The owners will take care of you.

This is an older motel but a nice change from chain motels that all seem so much alike. We stayed in the John Wayne room #10. It has lots of John Wayne pictures, and dvd’s are included for several of his movies. Our room had a beautiful king bed, rocking chair, table and chair, fridge, microwave, and good wifi. Room opens in the back to a very nice courtyard. We skipped the pool since the water was pretty cold, but we thoroughly enjoyed their hot tub. Continental breakfast included donuts, packages of oatmeal, and a variety of juices.

If your looking for a clean room with great service look no futher!! The hot tub along with the swimming pool made the evenings relaxing after a long day on the rock crawling trails. The staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. They had parking for our tow rigs in the back. We had to make a repair and they allowed us to do this so we could hit the trails the following day. The staff knows the area and can make recommendations for dinning or sight seeing.

We stayed one evening. We found the staff very accommodating, the room clean, and beds comfortable. This is an "old time motel". One feels like they have stepped back in time. Everyone is welcoming, including the dogs who are very happy to give you a friendly kiss and a good hardy tail wag gin'.
