Soaking Pool

Creekside Hot Springs
Upper Hot Springs Pools &400' Water Slide (across street/ quick walk-wear shoes extra $5-7)

●● Access to the Spa & Club (Age 16+) (extra $, well worth it)

Fitness & Wellness Center
Daily Fitness Classes
Relaxation Pool Age 16+
Cascading Hot Springs
Sauna & Steam Rooms
Includes slides, lockers and towels.

FOOD:

Spa area had a quick service good and drink (21+ to smoothies) spot. Great finds. Huge variety.

Slides: great lunch spot.  Quick. Yummy and something for everyone.

Lodge: restaurant we didn't dine at.

ROOMS: seems reasonable.  Several options.  We did not spend the night.

my 3 negative piece of feed back are:

1- Lack of signs for day guests where to pay. Or signs for handicap parking area.

2- website does NOT explain if you wish to use the adult only arras there is a fee on top of the main pool entrance cost.

3- spa front desk staff were males and ladies locker room suffered from the female staff member calling in. Guest should never feel the affect of short staff especially when this was an upgrade to use.

We will be back and rank this as #1 hot springs in Colorado! !

Love the hot springs and there is lots to see and do in the area. Salida, CO has a cute little downtown for shopping and eating. Buena Vista is a jumping off place for rafting, hiking, off road trips. Visit St. Elmo - cheesy little "ghost town" but a fun, quick, free side trip.

The pools are clean and were not crowded when we visited on a weekend August 2014. Our family's favorite part is the natural hot springs around the river. A bit tricky to get to as you have to climb down a bunch of rocks to get there and a little perilous for young or older guests. The resort has a little country store that has everything you might have forgotten.

Go early in the day to avoid the CO late day thunderstorms and lightning.

We went here on for one weekend because we could afford it. I can't believe how middle of nowhere it was, but once we got into the resort, it was worth it. The mountain was gorgeous. The hot springs were hot, of course. So were the swimming pools, but I found myself dizzy after swimming for a while. I wanted to stay in the hot springs for a long time because the air was winter cold. The food was good. The room we stayed in was nice. Kind of unfortunate to not have Wi-Fi there, but it was two patient days of relaxation overall. My mom even bought a bench made of aspen.

On a recent visit to Buena Vista my husband and I decided to visit the Mount Princeton Hot Springs. We "upgraded" so that we could check out all of the facilities. Good thing we did because the only place worth hanging out at (in my opinion) was the "relaxing" pool and the "cascading" pools. They were also not as filled with nasty debris and bugs like the other pools. It is supposed to be adult only, but there were some kids in the area when we were there.

Unfortunately, the water was too high in the river when we visited to enter the natural hot pools there. And, really, that was the only "natural" feature about this "cement pond" place.

On a positive note, the young folks working at the hot springs were all very nice and a pleasure to talk to.

The hot springs pool is very basic and kept at around 102-105 degrees F. It is fine to unwind after a day of hiking. The locker rooms are clean and functional. Bring a towel and just carry your stuff in a tote onto the deck to save a little money. You can rent towels and lockers if you want. The day pass allows access to the hot pool, a 97 degree F. swimming pool, a steam room, and a water slide. If you have kids they will have enough to keep busy.
If you want to use the spa area that has more pools and hotter water, the best deal is to book a hillside or cliffside room there. One night entitles you to use the spa area (adults only) for two days, which translates into a $70 discount on the room. The river pools are fun, but bring water shoes to really walk around on all those rocks!
