Great location for ice fishing. They have a loaner gear program that hooked us up with everything we needed for free. We brought poles, but they have those too. Loaned us an ice auger, lures the fish hit there and even told us a good spot to try. The rainbow trout are beautiful!!!
$7 for park use for the day, but way worth that cost. This is a can't miss if you're anywhere close to Steamboat Springs and might even be worth the drive from Denver. They also had snow shoes, fat tire bikes and hiking equipment to loan out. We'll be back in the spring for that and probably again next winter to ice fish again. The ranger was the best. So helpful, friendly and had a passion for the park. Great job Colorado!!!

This park has an easy, well maintained trail that circumnavigates the reservoir. It is great for adults, young kids, and dogs. I went hiking here in September 30th and the fall colors were magnificent. Just about a 20 minute drive from Steamboat Springs, it is an easy getaway from town and an excellent place to be one with nature. The drive there was worth it too! Very picturesque.

A good sized man made reservoir. Fishing, boating, camping for those so inclined.

We like the shallow, far end where the pelicans and swans hang out.

Took a short half-hour (ish) drive from Steamboat to do some hiking and view a gorgeous mountain lake. We were not let down with this side trip! There are several trails to hike or bike, a swimming beach and of course a nice lake to swim in or just enjoys the views.

We love Stagecoach State Park! The bike trail around the park is challenging enough for an adult to ride it to get a good workout in, but friendly enough for young riders to test their chops on forgiving terrain. The marina is great and the staff are very helpful. Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle around or get a pontoon and head out for some refreshing swimming. Stagecoach State Park is a must for your Colorado vacation if you're anywhere near Steamboat Springs.
