My wife and I just celebrated her birthday this past weekend at the beautifully restored Beaumont Hotel. We each had a massage, dinner, and breakfast...a wonderful experience in the historic mining town of Ouray. While enjoying a tour of the hotel, we heard the "haunting" stories of its past history only to "relive" an interesting coincidence in our room. I went to get coffee as my wife went into the bathroom to get ready for the day. While I was gone, she turned to go out the door and it was inexplicably locked. She swore she did not lock it. I smiled and thought to myself that she must have accidently bumped the horizontal lock as that was the only "logical" explanation. About 15 minutes later I went into the bathroom, closed the door, did my thing and when I turned the door knob, it was locked! No explanation! Chad, one of the owners was going to check the lock as we departed from an unforgettable R&R. I'll bet it was working fine. 5 STARS!!!

Room Tip: The views are best from the south facing rooms.

Ouray Colorado it self is something special and when my Wife and I decided to get married we chose the Beaumont Hotel because there is no other place in the world we would have rather celebrated such a special day. I cant tell you how perfect everything turned out. We have stayed in the Beaumont a handful of times and loved each stay but this one was outstanding. We started our wedding day in there spa which was heated for us at 8am and enjoyed peace and quiet while drinking our coffee and staring out at the picture perfect Colorado Mountains. Chad and Jennifer were absolutely amazing, as well as all of there staff who practically blended in and became our friends. They were so accommodating with everything, food, drinks, the Football games, and much much more. The food was amazing, the rooms are to die for, and the History and Architecture make your jaw drop. The Beaumont and the Switzerland of America will forever hold a special spot in our hearts!!

Room Tip: Every room is to die for!

We recently attended a wedding at the Beaumont Hotel and what a fantastic place! The entire hotel was occupied by wedding guests and we had an Outstanding time. The logistics of a wedding are complex and every need was satisfied. This place is beautiful. The restoration is unbelievable compared to what I saw as a debilitated building 20 years ago. Each room brings a "Wow" surprise to behold. The owners are friendly and personable and met our every need.

This hotel is now our go to destination when we are in the area.

Absolutely lovely, beautifully restored historic hotel. Great attention to detail. Gracious owners. We were guests at a friend's wedding and can honestly say that if I could remarry my husband, I wouldn choose this hotel with all its amenities for the dream wedding. And if I was still single, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find Rhett Butler smiling down at me from the Grand Staircase!

First visit was awesome. Second one was even better. This amazingly restored hotel is a living and breathing piece of history. The new owners have committed to outstanding service, and it shows. Rooms have so much character, and the restaurant is first-class. If it was good enough for Oprah (she stayed there during a visit to the area last summer), that should tell you something. Another nice extra is the attached bookstore with an entry from inside the hotel. And be sure to consider the suites, which are worth the extra cost. We stayed in the Tower Suite and it was tremendous.

Room Tip: Check out the Tower Suite with spiral staircase (photos available on the hotel's site).

This past October (9th thru18th), 2011 we stayed at this wonderful hotel. Originally, we were going to stay a day or two and move on with our Colorado vacation. However, we were having a great time in Ouray and we looked forward to eating at the hotel restaurant as often as they were open. The food was fabulous - the best in Ouray, in our opinion. On the third day of our stay, we changed rooms and stayed two more days. We kept prolonging our stay and we changed rooms for a total of four times and 8 days.

We cannot adequately compliment the hotel staff and owners for all the service and special attention they gave us. They were as courteous and attentive as found in any five star or resort hotel in which we have stayed, to include the Broadmoor Hotel/Resort in Colorado Springs and Hyatt Tamaya Resort south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. We were so pleased. The owners, Chad and Jennifer, were so gracious and accommodating.

We would like to say a special thank you to each of the staff...Barry, Brian, Chastity, Dennis, Amy, and Nicole Michele. Each one of these individuals were trained in all responsibilities and could fill in for each other. One was cognizant of the camaraderie between all of the staff and it was delightful. What a great team spirit! It was a major contribution to the pleasure of staying at the Beaumont. Thank you all.

When we travel, we like to stay at old hotels because we love the ambiance. We are in the business of classic car restoration (1930's Packard, Pierce Arrow, etc.). We are very much in tune to textures, materials and surface detail that is commanding with our profession. Needless to say, we are discriminating with detail.

The Beaumont Hotel is an incredibly well-restored hotel. The nuances in walls, paint, ceilings, hardware, and flooring are impeccable. The attention to the smallest detail is amazing. As an example, all the window coverings are of the absolute highest grade quality we have see anywhere. They are gorgeous. The hardware on the doors and windows hold true to the authenticity of period hinges, knobs and latches. This hotel must have been incredibly expensive to restore.

Chad and Jennifer work diligently to preserve the authenticity of the hotel which makes it such a wonderful experience. We hope to be visiting again in June 2012.

We were grateful for the experience.

Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We loved having you stay with us and we all miss you terribly. You became part of the Beaumont family when you came to stay. The staff (family) keeps asking when you will be coming back to visit – we hope that it is soon!
