Ate here on the evening of September 22, 2013 based on recommendation of friends who live in Ouray. Getting into the restaurant reminds you that buildings were smaller in the mining days. Maybe a little more entry lighting also. Not having reservations on a Sunday night in off-season was not an issue and we were shown a booth/table quickly. I wanted to try the Bear Creek mushrooms, but they were out. In fact, scratch that ingredient on any of the entree's. The house salad was fresh, right amount of dressing, and chilled. I had one of the nightly specials, frankly I can't remember which one, but it was quite good. My wife had the chicken Marsala and raved about the taste. It was storming that night and the power fluctuated a few times but the backup lighting was constant and they handled this minor interruption with no problems. We spoke with several other locals and they rated the Bon Ton as one of the top two restaurants in Ouray. Give it a try.
