“GREAT PLACE”
Reviewed 13 August 2008

Didn't know what to expect because the rate was so reasonable. Was I pleasantly surprised!!! Cozy, clean and spacious rooms.- nicely decorated. The front office people were so friendly and accomodating for a couple of special requests we had. Very nice folks, the BEST. You will not go wrong by staying at this hotel!!! Relaxing hot tubs after a fun day of activity in the Mountains. Great beds. Can't say enought about the place.

We just returned from a stay at the Hot Springs Inn, Ouray, Colorado. The location was perfect - close to town and the hot springs and right on the 2 mile loop around the river. Each room had a balcony overlooking the river and because of the (welcome) absence of noise from traffic, loud neighbors, etc, we enjoyed leaving the door or window open to listen to the river.

Management was very accomodating, easy-going but professional. We didn't have any needs unmet. A great, quiet, reasonable hotel. We'll go back!

We stayed at the Hot Springs Inn in Ouray in July. We stayed in 7 different hotels on our trip and this one was by far the BEST!!! Very friendly and helpful front desk. Two king sized pillow top beds and all the extras for an excellent price! Thank you for going the extra mile for people's comfort and enjoyment. Keep up the good work! If we are ever again in Ouray this will be the place we stay.

For a mountain motel, this place was great! The rooms have TWO pillow-top KING sized beds that were wonderfully comfortable. The hotel is located on a river, so the balcony has a view of the river, and you can open your window and listen to the flow (if you so choose). The room was pretty big (has to fit those beds!). With a faux fireplace (it turns on and looks like a fire, but doesn't generate much heat), tv, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom is pretty standard with the vanity being outside of the shower area in the room itself. The place was very clean and they are adamant about no smoking and pets, which I think helps keep it clean. There was a charming continental breakfast in the AM which offered all kinds of cereal, bread, waffles, Pop Tarts, juice, coffee, yogurt, etc., but sadly, no fruit. The people at the front desk are friendly and nice. It's also just a 5 minute walk to the hot springs pool. I would highly recommend it, and we would stay there again. From what we could see, it's the best motel in Ouray.

If you want "the best", go here. The room pictures on the web don't come close to doing this place justice; when I walked into my room I just grinned.

Not only did I have every amenity ( fridge and freezer, microwave, a huge TV(cable), a no-charge safe(great for out of state CCW folks), good coffee , NO SMOKING, a bed I wish I could take with me and too much more to list.), but I had a river less than 20 feet away; the sound lulled me to sleep all four nights.

The ladies that keep this place running are top knotch and have the patience of Job; they always have a correct, patient answer no matter how dumb the question.

If you visit Ouray and don't stay here.....you blew it.

Great experience! This property is well maintained and clean. We had booked 2 nights, but after we were there a few hours, deciced to add another night. The Ouray experience certainly was enhanced by the location of this hotel. A balcony view next to the river. Great way to start and finsh your day. The beds were terrific and the room was large with all the ammenities.
The front desk staff were most helpful. We found the website for this hotel on a Ouray search. Would stay there again and highly recommend.

My BF and I stayed 2 days during the week after the July 4th holiday. Things in town had quieted down and overall, this Inn had all the amenities we needed such as a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and coffee maker. The bathroom was about average size but had a very nice adjustable shower head, a timed heat lamp and a little window! The 2 king sized beds were very cozy and restful. It was a plus to have laundry facilities available because we came on a motorcycle and couldn't pack as much as we would have liked in the way of clothing. The only staff I interacted with was Jan and she was very accomodating. We arrived quite early and she allowed us to leave our pack in the check in area behind the desk until our room was ready. She had placed it on "high priority" with the housekeeping staff. This was a great relief to two road weary bikers, being able to check in early. The room was large and inviting with a ceiling fan and fireplace although it gave off only light and no real heat. The sound of the river was soothing and we enjoyed the private balcony. My only complaint was the sneers we received from a very large group of Amish guests as we entered the hot tubs. It was no fault of the Inn however, and we summed it up by realizing they were in our environment and it was just too bad if they were offended at a couple in swim attire who wanted to enjoy the hot tub before retiring. I agree with the other reveiwers about breakfast being far too skimpy, ordinary, and in need of improvement as even the yogurt was a cheap store brand. I have to agree also with other reveiws about some of the expectations being impractical, by the very nature of the hospitality business. White towels are a poor choice for such expectations and all the signage does tend to put guests off rather than endear them to feeling welcomed. The price was incredibly reasonable at approx. $262.00 for 2 nights and we would definately stay again.
