It was a great Jeep Tour for us. I recommend the Jeep Tour because you get the history behind the views & sites.

“You are deep in the mountains here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

A four wheel drive trip for sure. Worth the effort and good for novice four wheelers. You are not hanging on the edge of the road. Road is closed by snow. Opens usually in May. June or July is best for wildflower viewing. Be aware that weather sometimes moves in afternoons. Take a lunch and water. Hiking, photography and just being in nature is wonderful in Yankee Boy Basin.

“Camp Bird/ Yankee Boy Basin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

Good place to take the family to get 'inside' the mountains as it is an easy and short day trip. Lots of short trails and places to picnic with great views. Best in Summer and Fall but just as fun in the Spring if you like to wade in snow and get a little wet. Lot's of tourists so you likely won't be alone.

“Good for First Jeep Trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

When visiting Ouray for the first time this is the half day trip most folks take and it is a great introduction to the mountains. Beautiful views, visit the waterfall featured on the Coors beer can. Bathrooms, rare in mountains. We like SOA jeep tour company for this trip.
