“Pleasantly surprised”

We stayed in a second story room, and every room has a great view with a bench outside for reading or happy hour. The on-site tiki bar is located on a very nice little patio and is great for relaxing after a day of traveling. Beautifully landscaped all over with fountains and flowers.
Room is well appointed for a motel type room, but you have to rent the robes for $5! This should be included IMO.
Breakfast omelets were a nice addition to an otherwise typical hotel breakfast. Overall we were very pleased that we had chosen Twin Peaks after being able to see the other hotels nearby.

Hello BCFlag!
Thank you for painting a lovely picture and leaving this review. The Robes are a brand new edition to the hotel this year. The reason they are for rent and not included is because we have also overhauled our pricing for this year. We allow guests to rent the robe as an option. This way we don't have to include it in the room price and make our rates go up. Thanks again for your review and i hope this information helps you and future guests.
Best of luck,
Tim W.

Most of the other hotels in town were booked when I arrived, but it turned out that I still got one of the best. The room was clean, attractive, and comfortable. The hotel grounds are also nice, including the pool and hot springs pools. Breakfast included made-to-order omlettes. I ordered room service from the hotel restaurant and found that to be good, too.

The only problem I can see is that they do not allow check-ins before 3:00, and the office is closed until that time. I can't imagine that is convenient for most travelers.

Hi HereAndThere79!
Thanks for leaving an awesome review! I did want to point out that our lobby is open at 8:00 Am everyday and there is always a way to get a hold of someone. We use a phone line in the lobby and put a sign next to it that says to "dial 100 for assistance". We are needed by guests, staff, and many tasks that require us to leave the front desk. We are able to complete these with the help of the 100 phone. What also may have struck some confusion is the sign that also says "check in today will be 3:00 pm". We need this sign to solidify what time our check in is, as well as quickly answer a very common question by arriving guests if we are not in the office. Now that we have cleared that up we hope you no longer have an issue and look forward to giving you another great experience.
Best Wishes,
Tim W

Booking online discount is great. Nice having hot springs pools open 24/7. Food is outstanding and plentiful. Rooms are modern and nicely appointed. Staff are friendly. Very happy with our stay. Looking forward to returning in the future.

This year our experience at Twin Peaks for the week was a much better experience than our stay last year. There are some areas they need to improve, but overall, the motel is clean, comfortable, and pretty accommodating. They provided a very good experience for the kids with the pool and outdoor movie on Friday night. This was a really nice experience and we will try it again when we come this way.

Room Tip: We had 7 in our party and the 1st night had to stay in a combined room with 1 bathroom, really cramp...

I really liked this hotel. Well priced (not cheap, but very fair), clean rooms, nice linens, great hot springs fed mineral swimming pool, nice tiki bar, nice staff (mostly). Ouray is a great town and scenery is a dream... so it also wins on location, location, location. This is just a quick walk to downtown.

One negative drawback is that every written message throughout the hotel, on signs, in the room, in the lobby, are all written in a very negative, scold, bitter, negative, angry school teacher style. Tourist properties can be overrun with rude and thoughtless guests, and YES, reminders need to be given here and there. The tone should not be offensive to the majority of us who are happy to work with our hosts. Shift the tone in each message and all will find greater pleasure in the visit.

The other negative drawback is the breakfast service. The breakfast room is laid out in the least efficient manner possible for serving food (scattered locations), misplaced items, requirement to cut into those waiting in line, etc. Omelets are made to order (don't forget to tip the chef, she's working very hard and does a great job). Breakfast service should begin earlier in the day. Management needs to pay the extra $10/hour per day and get breakfast started sooner.

Do the above comprise reasons to skip this place? NO. They are encouragement to management to improve. This is a great value, overall.

Oh.. I forgot to mention the deer outside the back bathroom window... very nice.

Landed in Ouray when Hiway shut down due to Rock Slide and this was one of the best highlights of our Colorada Trip. Beautiful little town set in the valley of the Mountains and this Lodge had some of the most comfortable beds we slept in. The Natural Hot Springs was the Ultimate relaxation after being on motorcycles. Then the included breakfast was amazing. Chef prepared omelets of choice as well as fresh fruit, juices, waffles, etc. We would go back in a heartbeat. Be careful to leave any food outside, the bears show up at night and raid the trashcans.

Spent 4 nights at the hotel. The final night there our room hadn't been serviced (trash taken out or dirty towels replaced). A phone call to the office said someone would be over with towels. That never happened. After walking over to the office to get some clean towels, we were told that they would have to get some out of another building and would bring them over. That never happened. Slept in a room smelling of garbage and used wet, dirty towels for the third and fourth time.

Hello Chris W!
We are sorry to hear of the incident you explained. We can apologize and take responsibility. Most likely the confusion of our staff was directly related to the speed of the FJ Summit. With over 700 people, we fed 2100 dinners in 3 days, and worked around the clock to make the FJ guests feel as comfortable as possible. We set up tents and tables, booths, events, and we kept our restaurant open. We also dismantled the Event. We can assure you and future guests that we don't deserve a one out of five from this issue. Our staff had the best intentions but wasn't able to follow through for one out of seven hundred people. It is not okay to accept a margin of error but truthfully we are all human.
Best,
Tim W.
