“Liked having the springs right there”

We stayed at Healing Waters specifically because they had their own hot springs, and were more affordable than the big spa hotel. The service was good and the pool was nice, but the rooms were just OK, and we had a very loud group above us. I'd recommend not being on the ground floor if you are going to stay here.

The water in these tubs is the best in Pagosa and the super-hot indoor pool with adjacent room for cooling and resting is unbelievable. It's not the most luxurious place, but the Springs Resort has gotten way too commercial and crowded for my taste. As far as sleeping here: Unless you really want a (more-or-less) full kitchen, the cabins are not a good deal - they're small and not very comfortable. There is practically no storage space - no dressers, night table, just a tiny closet that's half-filled with the water heater and a couple of hooks on the wall. The bedroom is barely bigger than the double bed - no room even for a night table. The other cabins are right out your window, so if you want any privacy you have to keep blinds closed. And it's all very prefab feeling - faux wood, faux granite countertops. That said, SOME of the regular rooms are charming and spacious, some are very small; ask questions before you book. The location is perfect for walking anywhere in Pagosa and the waters are really sublime. Suggestion to owners: Have a pitcher of water in the lobby! And fresh ice... the bag of ice for guests was caked and old.
