Description: As the town's longest running coffee house, Higher Grounds was established in 2004 with the goal of bringing the country's then-emerging craft coffee scene to the quaint mountain community of Pagosa Springs. Exclusively serving organic fair trade coffee, fresh in-house baked goods, and a curated selection of local beers & spirits, we continually strive to be THE destination for both locals and visitors.

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Close to resort. We loved the bagels and the crepes. Somewhat off the beaten path but well worth the effort to locate this fabulous coffee shop. (ps. lots of locals hang out there)

“Awful. Awful. Awful.”
Reviewed 19 July 2013

Quite overpriced. Food, drinks, and even coffee are mediocre at best. Atrocious seating is cramped. Find someplace else to go. McDonald's has better regular ole' coffee. Service is poor and staff is...unusual to put it politely.

“Better than Starbuchs!!”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

What an extensive menu for a small coffee house. I explained I wanted bold and different. And that's what I got. An Arab blend with caramel something or other. Really hit the spot.

“Coffee”
Reviewed 10 July 2013 via mobile

I am at Starbucks every morning at home and so happy to find a great coffee place that makes delicious coffee. We were there every morning during our stay here and found the young ladies and men very pleasant in taking our orders. So pleased.

“Great Coffee and Breakfast”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

Coffee was good as many coffee places are. The breakfast offerings were delicious! Four of us had different menu items that were both tasty and a few were a little different than most breakfast places. Loved the salmon crepe!
