“Memorial Get Away”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Hands down this was the best vacation I have had in a long time and it started when we checked into the Wyndham Pagosa. Our unit was fabulous and my date was so surprised and impressed. The unit we stayed in had a full size kitchen with all the appliances and dishes you would need, a dinning room and living room with a great view. The bedroom was very spacious with a king size bed which was little too hard for me but we had a hot tub right outside the back door, so I was able to soak away any pain! This was our first date and it set the bar for future vacations. I have already referred a colleague to stay at this resort and would suggest anyone who needs some time away from the city to visit Pagosa and stay at the Wyndham!

Do not expect a unit on the lake in the building pictured in the photos for the resort. That photo depicts only one of the buildings at Wyndham Pagosa. There are, in fact, multiple units in multiple buildings of varying construction styles, and they are scattered about the site and are not lakeside. This resort is not in a remote or private location as the photo makes it appear but is directly off the main road and is surrounded by shops, offices, and apartment complexes. The view varies from unit to unit, depending on each unit's location and orientation on the site. The condos are nice on the inside, up to Wyndham standards, but appear quite rustic and in need of refinishing on the outside of the buildings.

Reviews seemed to be mixed on this location and we were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our accommodations. Check in was quick and easy and employees were pleasant. We would definitely recommend staying here. Having a 2 bedroom condo worked great for 2 couples staying several days. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Would have enjoyed a place with a view of the lake.

We read many reviews on this resort. Some were "5" and some were "1." We found a middle ground. We read about outdated accommodations. They were, but they were large, clean, and comfortable. We read about the Exercise Facility being unavailable and outdated. We had access every day, and it was better than average and upgrades were taking place while we were there. Some nice things about the rooms--full kitchen, washer/dryer, flat screen TVs, Blue-ray DVD player, and fireplace. Due to the time of year, no one was there, so we had total privacy.

Unfortunately, Pagosa Springs, and the surrounding area attractions were closed. If you want to horseback ride, have full access to Mesa Verde, take the Durango-Silverton Railroad or many of the other attractions, don't go in the early spring. Wait until mid-May, but good luck getting a reservation then.

Room Tip: If you stay at the Wyndham, make sure you either get a two-bedroom or the large side of the lock off...

Spent March 31 - April 6, 2014 at Wyndham Pagosa in a 2-bedroom unit in the Master's Condos. We were right on the lake in a ground-floor unit of the 2-story buildings. Had a great view of the lake with playground right there. Unit needs some updating in the kitchen but it was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc. The stacked washer and dryer came in very handy especially as we never got any housekeeping services despite being there for a full week. Unit only includes laundry and dish detergent for 2 loads but we brought our own so we were able to wash towels and dishes as needed.

We arrived about 2 pm on Sunday and were told our unit wasn't clean yet and would be ready closer to 4 pm (check-in time). They told us our unit number so we found it, parked in front and let the kids play in the playground right next to the building. About 3:30 I went back to office as housekeeping still had not been there while my husband, parents and my kids stayed at the playground. At the office, the clerk called "housekeeping" and I was told they just finished the unit. Considering we were parked right in front of the unit and could see it from the playground we knew they were lying about it not being ready to begin with. I would much rather they tell us we could not check-in until 4 pm rather than lie to us. Also kept getting calls on the unit phone trying to get us to go to RCI "update meeting" to the point we finally unplugged the phone. Once we got rid of this annoyance, rest of trip was very enjoyable.

Since they supposedly have housekeeping (although we NEVER experienced it), they need to do a better job of cleaning the shower in the master bathroom. The shower door was disgusting with mold on the inside of the door frame and "crud" built up all around the bottom of the frame. Rest of unit was acceptable.

City Market and several restaurants are in immediate area and the resort's location was very convenient. Buy your tickets to the Hot Springs pools from the Wyndham's Activities Desk. We saved $66 on 6 weekly tickets over buying them from The Springs Resort directly. We ate at Boss Hogg's and Ramon's Mexican and would recommend both.

We have been coming here since 1989. Love the Eagles Loft. THe hot tubs have improved and the sheets too! It's a little rustic but that's why we like it. It feels like Colorado. Being a owner, it isn't like the other Wyndham resorts, however don't expect it to be. It's Colorado! We love Colorado, and you have to lower your expectations and relax. We relax here and it's quiet. Service at the desk was awesome and so were all the staff. Our room is to be expected. I do think that the cabinets need refinishing, and the carpet can use a good cleaning, however it was still Great. We love it because we like to SKI… so that's why we come here. We will continue to return, based on the fact that we love Colorado and Pagosa, we love to ski! It offers all that we want in a resort.

Room Tip: Depending on what you want and your family, we love the view.

Just got back after a week at the Wyndham at Pagosa Springs and have to tell you - we had a fabulous time. The staff was so helpful - lots of fun activities - and everyone was there to make sure we had a wonderful time. The facilities were great. We had three condos - two one-bedroom condos that adjoined for two of our families with young kids. Also had a two bedroom condo. Opened out to the golf course - with lots of room for the kids to play. The pool is close by - and really nice. It also has a fantastic workout center with machines, racquetball, everything you would want. Can't imagine a better experience. Try it - you'll love it!!!

Room Tip: The one bedroom condos were huge. They had a murphy bed in the living room but excellent kitchen fa...
