“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014

Wonderful place...we used this as our base for Wolf Creek skiing. Great room with full amenities and cleanliness, hot tub, wifi, TV, and the breakfast was filling and just what we needed to start the day. Staff was helpful and friendly. We'll be back!!!!

We enjoyed being your base of operations for your ski trip! It's really a fairly short drive from HCL to Wolf Creek and its beautiful all the way, so we get a lot of skiers and snowboarders.

Thank you for writing such a nice review-other travelers always like hearing guest experiences so they can make an informed decision. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next ski trip! Thanks for being our guest!

It's the small things in life that sometimes make the biggest difference. The team @ HCL are all about service, always going out of their way to make sure my stay is an integral part of a fantastic WC Ski experience. Looking forward to my next trip back.

Thank you for your kind words. It's always fun welcoming back old friends of HCL. We have guests who have been coming here for 30 plus years, and others who are just starting to make HCL their home away from home. We appreciate each and every one of you, and will always do our best to make your stay the best it can possibly be.
We look forward to seeing you again!

Not only were the rooms in excellent clean condition, but the staff was friendly and courteous to our every needs. We enjoyed 2 full days of boarding on the mountain and then rested up in the hot tubs, and the sauna in the evening, then finished the evening with a DVD rental from the front desk. Every time we go to Wolf Creek we use High Country Lodge. Strongly recommend their facility to anyone who values customer service, clean and comfortable rooms, and high quality for a fair and reasonable price!

We really appreciate your kind words-reviews like this one let us know what we are doing right, and puts smiles on all the staff members. We count on our guests to let us know how we are doing so we can keep delivering the kind of customer service and attention to detail that turns a casual guest into a loyal returning guest. We also appreciate it when you let us know how we can improve or an amenity we can add, and we take your suggestions seriously.

Thank you for staying with us once more, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We chose High Country Lodge to be able to stay in a cabin and be close to Wolf Creek for snowboarding. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful, even with recommendations around town. It was nice to have breakfast at the lodge before a long day on the mountain. The cabin was accommodating and the perfect setting for a nice relaxing night. The only downside is how close the lodge is to the highway. The highway was not super busy, but had enough traffic to notice the noise every once in a while.

If we were to plan another trip to Wolf Creek, High Country Lodge would also be included!

Took the kids to the High Country Lodge and it was great! Very friendly staff and the kids thought the tubing hill was very cool. We will definitely stay there again when we are back in Pagosa Springs to ski Wolf Creek.

We are so glad you and your kids had such a great time while here. The tubing park is a lot of fun and everyone has been posting videos on Youtube and Facebook. With Wolf Creek Ski Area, the hot springs in town, all our restaurants, and HCL, Pagosa Springs is a great place for a getaway!
Thanks for staying with us, and letting others know what a good time you had! See you on your next trip!!

Room was nice but nothing wow. Breakfast was very simple but service was very nice and the ladies behind the front desk had good recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Would go again. And go see the hot springs!

We are so glad you liked our friendly, knowledgeable staff. Our goal is extraordinary service to each and every guest, so we try to anticipate amenities our guests may like such as ski tickets and hot springs tickets, free dvds and games to check out, our tubing park, and a very complete breakfast with hot items and excellent coffee. We have a small gift area, snacks, and hot drinks available all day long. We can give you tips on everything from a great hiking trail, to a special fishing hole, or a shop where you can find unique gift items. We know all the restaurants in town and can direct you to the best in every category, and much more. In short, we want to help you have the best time possible while visiting this beautiful area of Colorado.

Thank you for writing a review. We hope to see you again soon.

Very little snow in town this year so sledding at the usual spot was out. We decided to try The groomed runs at High Country Lodge despite some of our group thinking it would be "lame". The couldn't have been more wrong. Everyone had a blast. The runs are long and fast even though they weren't open all the way. Well worth the money and probably safer than our usual sledding adventures.

We love hearing feedback on our tubing park. Everyone is having lots of fun, and some large groups have been tubing as well. We have some videos and pics on our Facebook page, and guests have even loaded some videos on Youtube.
Right now our tubing park is open Wed. thru Sunday from 10AM to 5PM, with the last tickets being sold at 4 PM. All sessions are 2 hours each. Toddlers 3 and under are free with a paying adult. Children thru 12 are $5, and everyone 13 and over is $10.
Thanks for sharing your fun time with others!
