The stay would have been great except for the condition of the sofa-sleeper in our "luxury suite"...the sofa had an obvious sag in it, looked terrible, and the pull out mattress was in terrible condition. It literally looked like they built a brand new hotel and bought a highly-used sofa-sleeper to put in the room. Beyond this issue, the stay was great!

When we booked a room in the "vintage" portion of the hotel we understood that booking the cheaper of the rates offered would not give us a "top of the line" room experience. Although the proximity to the hot springs was great; the room was a disappointment.

Things we appreciated:
• Of course, easy access to the Springs w/ private pool access for guests.
• Dual room entry to include an inside hallway access to the room plus curbside entry from the parking area. Loved the creaky hallway floors.
• Sink area / Bath Products (soaps, tom's toothpaste etc)
• Plentiful supply of Towels
• Bathrobes (although thin - terry bathrobes would be nicer)
• Bedding was comfy
• Front desk staff was helpful and friendly upon check in.

That being said, the room itself "had seen better days" and really needed a facelift to justify the rate.
• Heating Unit was excessively noisy.
• Hair Dryer fell off the wall with first use.
• Television was the smallest we've ever seen in a hotel - almost too small to enjoy from the bed in a small room. Smaller than my desktop computer monitor.
• Lack of comfortable seating – just two hardback chairs.
• Bedding Dust Cover was too frayed for a $200 per night room.
• Towel Exchange Policy was petty.

I really think that with interest in vintage-style motels, with a little more care and attention to detail this one could be a winner. We were so looking forward to a stay at the original "resort;" however, it's not likely that we would do so again. We expect better attention to room maintenance and room amenities for $200 a night. Access to the beautiful Springs can't carry it alone.

We have stayed here many times and love it. As a couple with other families and with our kids. It is like a little place of heaven for us all. We have teenagers and they loved it. It literally takes away all of the stress from your body and is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Service is amazing, rooms are comfortable and tubs.........I don't even know what to say. Walking distance to great food, so you never have to get in your car.

It is now over $200.00 per night (with tax) for the very smallest rooms in the original building. (two double beds). Yes, the soaking is unique but that is getting up there in terms of what you get, accomodations wise, for the amount you pay. Long ago I bid farewell to the expensive spa services and I get my massage about 2 minutes away (walking) in town for a great price!

We'd like to thank you for taking the time to review your stay! We're glad you enjoyed the therapeutic mineral water at The Springs Resort & Spa. We strive to be competitive to comparable natural hot spring resorts and offer our guests additional perks, such as the complimentary access to our VIP pools, as well as robes, towels, bathhouse lockers (if needed) and a 24-hour beverage bar. Additionally, we encourage our guests to soak on both their arrival and departure days (2 full days) a $212 value! We'd like to thank you for your feedback and we hope you consider joining us again!

Watch Your Stuff No Security and Phones and Personal Items were being stolen!!! rooms in main hotel need new Beds and furniture and very dated!! and for the price $$$$$$ should be top Quality. we have been going now for 9 years and have seen a decline in Quality of service so sad because it is such a nice place.. employees did not care to sand areas with Ice that had been told by several people until a elderly Lady fell and hit her head BAD!!!

We are sorry to hear about your less than excellent experience at The Springs Resort & Spa and would like to address your concerns. We do have security on our busier weekends, but we cannot be held responsible for everyone's personal items. The Hotel furniture was purchased new when the hotel was built in 2009 and it is replaced when the years of use cause the need. We routinely salt and gravel the walkways throughout the pool areas and site property. We ask our staff to check the conditions frequently and request they remind our visitors to use caution when moving from pool to pool. We have a photo posted of the current cautionary signs throughout the property, and are currently working on a project for new 'icy conditions' signage. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct our mistakes and make every future experience excellent!

We visit several times per year, we were here 3 nights with two rooms this time. As always, the rooms were good, the tubs were awesome and the front desk was hit and miss. On checkout, the concierge had to help the clerk as we were club members and our bill needed some adjustment. As ever, i would really suggest that the result focus on their front desk staff because that is the only negative that i run into time after time.

We came to Pagosa for the natural spring, and the Resort is the only one having direct access to it. We paid $219 per night to stay in a " motel" type of room without breakfast. My husband was upset. Spring is good though, although the temp. mark is not so clear.
