“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Wonderful hotel, our room was clean, the wine tasting was nice, the dinner in Carolines was good, as was the breakfast. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the big white rocking chairs after dinner, sipping more wine. We will definitely stay here again.

We only stayed one Sunday night, 8/10/2014 while traveling East. The Standard Room, 1 King Bed was nice, comfortable and very clean. The bathroom, while very clean, was small.
The common areas and grounds are beautiful and great for relaxation. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The problems that we had were minor but irritating. The TV had many stations but no guide to tell you what programs were on what channel.

The WiFi they advertized was non-existent. I spent a lot of time trying to get my smart phone to access the WiFi with no success. I spoke to an employee who told me that the WiFi had been out for two weeks and they could not get somebody out to fix it, another employee told me that it just went out but the company that installed it would not come out to fix it during a weekend.

Apparently they had an unexpectedly high volume of dinerd the night before and therefore many dinner menu selections were not available.

Room Tip: Our room was facing away from the highway and was very quiet.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback about your stay at the Inn. We do get many compliments on our beds, cleanliness of the property as well as the friendliness of our staff. While our Guest Information books are being revised we began providing welcome packets with hotel and local area information. I'm sorry we didn't implement this procedure in time for your stay. Regarding the wireless we were having a firewall issue that took some time to figure out and repair but has been fixed and we are up and running again. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

Thank you again and we hope to host you both again in the future.

Best regards,

I do not say that about many hotels, but The Wine Country Inn in Palisade, CO is perfect. My sister and I stayed there for two nights and loved it. From check in, to the free glass of wine to the beautiful rooms, we were enchanted. The Inn sits in the middle of a vineyard and captures your imagination as soon as you drive up. The staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful a joy to work with - they made us feel welcome and treasured. We were not just another tab, but valued guests. Love it! The room was spacious, comfortable and attractive. The bedding was wonderful - soft, just the right amount of warm and pretty to boot. The mattress was wonderful - soft and not too hard. Loved the pillows. The bathrooms were larger than average - water was always hot - the towels were a little disappointing - a tad thin, but okay. There is a small fridge and microwave in the room - big plus! And wine glasses with a corkscrew! Hint to owners: add an under-the-counter light below the microwave - that little nook is really dark. There are black-out curtains and windows with expansive views of the vineyard and the area around Palisade. And quiet - we never heard anyone else once the we were in the room and the door closed. No kids jumping, running, doors slamming, or showers running. Perfect room! The pool and spa were nice. Not overcrowded with splashing kids, but nice even for single adults. The breakfast is included and was good. They served hot scrambled eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, french toast, fresh fruit and various pastries and bread. Hint to owners: During peach season, why not serve local, sliced peaches?? The coffee was excellent - real half and half was available in a near-by pitcher - huge plus. We had lunch - Caprese Salad and the Burger - excellent - they used lots of fresh, local ingredients. This is probably the best restaurant in Palisade. I loved this place and I can't wait to go back! Thank you Tally Family - you made our sister get-away special.

Room Tip: I'm not sure there is a bad room in the place - you might ask for a room on the second or third...

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay at Wine Country Inn regarding your getaway with your sister. We are so pleased that you enjoyed yourselves and our amenities! Your suggestions are duly noted and we will discuss them with the management team. We usually do have peaches out with our breakfast during the season, and I will look into why they were not available during your stay. Thank you again for choosing Wine Country Inn as your destination and we appreciate your business. We look forward to your return soon for another visit! Safe travels!

Thank-you so much for an enjoyable overnight visit at your beautiful Inn. Our room was perfect, had a wonderful view of the vineyards and windows we could open for a fantastic breeze while sleeping. We would have liked the hot items on the breakfast buffet to be a little warmer though, but the rest of the assortment offered was very good. We did not partake, but the wine offering in the evening, looked to be wonderful also.
Your staff is very friendly and very helpful, such a pleasure to stay there.
Thank-you for everything.
Sincerely.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share comments about your experiences at the Inn. Although you'd be hard-pressed to find a bad view at the Inn, the vineyard views are our most requested, and it sounds like you agree. Your feedback regarding the temperature of the buffet items have been relayed to our breakfast staff. The next time you visit be sure to chat with the gentleman who staffs our wine reception, he is wonderful. Lastly, we greatly appreciate the comments about our friendly and helpful staff, I will be sure to share this with them..

We look forward to hosting you again in the future!

The hotel itself is nothing very special. The grounds though are beautiful and very well kept. The location is perfect if you're wanting to be close to all of the wineries. The girl at reception barely gave us any information but she was polite and pleasant. The live entertainment was neat to be around even though we only listened while we went out on walks.

I only have two real disappointments with this hotel. One was the food there and the other was the internet.

We came to Palisade to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we wanted a delicious and romantic meal. We were told to get a reservation in Caroline's (which was not needed as there was only us and 2 other couples in there) and we were sadly disappointed. Caroline's is not a separate restaurant. It's just a secluded room that uses the same kitchen as the other eatery in the hotel. Our food was extremely mediocre and not worth the $120 bill (we ended up paying for another table's dessert because my husband was too nice to correct the waitress). That bill was for a cheese plate (which was the best part), two meals, two glasses of wine, and (two) desserts. We had the same exact amount of food at Bin 707 the next night for only $80 and we were blown away by the food there. I mean seriously blown away!

As for the internet, we arrived on a Friday afternoon and asked about the internet twice. The first time we were bluntly told, "It's down, but we're working on it." On Saturday, my husband asked a second time and the girl at the front desk gave us attitude and said, "It's still down. Why don't you go outside and enjoy the scenery?" Seriously??? Thank you TWEENager for the suggestion! Why didn't we think of that?? We were looking forward to the internet so that we could Skype with our one year old while being away from her for the FIRST time ever. Stupid us for inquiring about the internet. Twice. (The internet miraculously started working on Sunday morning right before we checked out. At least it proved my "they probably never have internet" theory wrong...)

All in all, we will definitely stay here again. We just won't eat here or use the internet! HA!

Room Tip: Our room did not have a tub. So if that matters to you, ask first!

Thank you for your comments about the hotel grounds and location. While our Guest Room Information Books are being revised we are handing out welcome packets with hotel and area information. I apologize as it seems like you just missed this procedure and would have appreciated this helpful information.

I'm so sorry your meal at Caroline's did not live up to your expectations. We have been moving to a more local and sustainable menu which is also accompanied by a higher price tag. However, due to feedback such as this we are looking a pairing down the menu and changing a few of the items to meet our guests requests.

As far as the internet we were having a firewall issue that took some time to fix as it happened right before the weekend but the issue has been solved. It was a very stressful weekend for our guests who are used to being connected and we regret the inconvenience it caused. I can assure we do have internet and it is free!

As far as your last point about guests desiring tubs, all of our queen rooms have tubs, but only the queen rooms.

Please let me know the next time you stay with us. I would like to make you stay more pleasantly memorable than this past stay.

Kind Regards,
Christine Wight

A pilot friend who sings in the genre of John Denver was performing one night (Ken Dravis - one talented guy). My wife and I flew our plane - the "Magic Carpet" - over to see him and for our first stay at the Wine Country Inn. This place has lots more than 'three hots and a cot'; the ambiance is genteel, the staff courteous and attentive (without being intrusive), the food at either the less formal room and the formal dining was delicious and prepared just right (courtesy of Christine the Food & Beverage Mgr). Our first floor room had a porch we sat out on and read while watching from a distance the festivities in the pool. The location is scenically impressive and was a short drive distant from both the airport and all that Grand Junction has to offer. We definitely will stay there again when we return - and we will be back!

Room Tip: Our first floor room had a door onto a covered patio.

Last month, we had our wedding at the Wine Country Inn. It was so beautiful! We had a lot of out of town guests that came so it was perfect for us to have everyone in the same place for the whole wedding weekend. Our family thought the Wine Country Inn was absolutely beautiful! The rooms were perfect and the pool area is so relaxing! Our family really enjoyed the pool!! They honeymoon suite was beautiful as well. It was such a huge room, which helped us while we got ready. It was just perfect!

Our wedding was the most beautiful wedding ever! :) It was so gorgeous with Mt. Garfield behind us and being surrounded by vineyards. We had our wedding outside and the staff did a beautiful job decorating and setting everything up. The staff was so wonderful working with us on everything, including decorations and food. They were very helpful whenever we had questions. They were always available when we needed them.

The food at our reception was amazing! Guests were telling us all night (and still are) how delicious the good was!! Between the salmon, chicken, and pesto pasta, it was all mouthwatering. We had pies for dessert (instead of a wedding cake) and they were delicious!!! They made them in house and they were amazing!! They did a very nice job with our pies! We were blown away!

We had a few transitions during the wedding (going outside then to inside, then back to outside) and it all went flawless! Between the DJ and the servers they made these transitions so easy for our guests.

The Wine Country Inn was absolutely perfect for our wedding!!!
