“The best of both worlds”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Some people don't like B&Bs because the owners are all up in your face or you hear people above you or in the next room because you're essentially in a house. We've stayed here twice now, once in the summer and once in the winter, and I rarely write reviews but we were totally pleased both times because The Angle Inn is the best of both worlds - a super friendly staff with the comforts and space of a hotel. We dig this place because you're in Telluride - you're not going to spend much time in the hotel because you'll be out fishing, skiing, hiking or biking, but when you are at the hotel, you want it to be comfortable, quiet, friendly, have great food, and be affordable. From my experience, I don't think you can find another place in the valley that is of this quality and so affordable. Why would you pay up for a place when you're not even going to be there?? The place isn't right in town, but if you want better access to the outdoors (the river and hiking is right across the street) and the bus into town stops right out front. If you go, ask for Ian and Hays, the owners, they'll take care of you - nothing better than going back to a hotel a second time and knowing the people!

Room Tip: Get a room with a deck!

Crisp, clean, spacious and lovely. This is the kind of place I would visit even if Telluride wasn't right up the road. Yummy fresh breakfast, beautiful views, a warm spot in the sun, and wonderful pillows and linens, you just can't ask for more. Thank you.

Ended up staying a weekend in January as i got stuck in a snow storm in Placerville on my way to Telluride. What a fantastic Inn. Very friendly people. Great food in their restaurant. The room was very clean. Nice bed and linens. Quiet. Nice shower. Nice tv. And i loved that automatic coffee machine! What a great value!! I will be back.

I just stayed at the Angler Inn on Feb. 16th before seeing a concert at the Mountain Village Convention Center. Trying to get a room in Mountain Village or Telluride for under $500/night is impossible, even with the 20% discount the purchase of concert tix was supposed to get you. The Angler Inn was a treat from start to finish. $140 for a double queen room during ski season. Free parking. The best restaurant and bar I've been to in the entire area hands down (amazing martinis!!). Great Staff. Huge, simply-decorated rooms with awesome down comforters. Just great! Highly recommended!

I really love this hotel. I stayed here for four nights while on business in Telluride. The remodeled rooms and common areas were clean and aesthetically pleasing. Hayes, the owner was very sweet and helpful, as was the entire staff. The rates were reasonable, especially given the proximity to a major resort. The restaurant and bar were very good. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Angler because we had an 8 AM appointment in Telluride, and the hotels there are expensive. The Angler provided excellent value. It is about 20 min from Telluride, so it's an easy drive. The room was very well set up and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was a great start to the day. It was perfect for our purposes!

My son family and myself stayed there for 4 nights. It is a very comfortable place and we were very happy to have a special machine for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, even hot apple cider in the hallway.. Coming home from skiing it is a special treat. Also we got much better meals in their restaurants for the same price as in the town of Telleruide. It is about a 12 mile drive from the town and ski are but well worth it.

Room Tip: One on the ground floor
