We stayed twice in the summer of 2010 and t hen again in the summer of 2011. The hotel itself is nothing special... Adequate rooms, clean with all the comforts, this is also reflected in the very fair price. It has free wifi, which helped a lot, and a hotel manager ready to help. The most important thing for us was the view: amazing! The windows had some flowers and then we could see across the bay. It really made our holidays as at times we would sit on the balcony looking and talking... Also, the hotel is right at the port, so one c an walk to tavernas, cafes etc. Finally, what really impressed us was that Babis drive to the port when we were waiting for the boat, just so that he could give me the bag I forgot in the lobby of the hotel. Where else would one take the bike although he could see the boat approaching, run back to the hotel and then back to the port just to bring a client's bag?

Room Tip: We loved, loved, loved the sea view, but others really liked the rooms which had the view of the Hor...

We stayed here for just one night four years ago on a ferry stopover and decided we had to come back.

We arrived with no booking, but were recognised and made very welcome by Babis.

I had a dental problem and he went out of his way to find out when the dentist was coming to the island from Athens and made all the arrangements for me to see him, even taking me and then telling me off(!) for taking a taxi back rather than phoning him!

Breakfast is great value at E5, with unlimited free coffee even if you don't take breakfast. Also breakfast is available until 12.00 which is great when you are on holiday relaxing.

Babis also arranged for some washing to be done for us, at a great rate.

All in all, we would recommend this as one of the best hotels we have stayed at in our 30 years of going to Greece around many small islands.

One good tip, if you are put on the third floor, don't worry - very unusually there is a lift!

Sea view rooms are great, and beach is also very good. If you turn left when you come out of the hotel there is a lovely taverna about 300 metres away which gives you free sunbeds if you eat just a snack lunch, which was very good value for money and very tasty. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of it, but it is worth hunting out.

Room Tip: Sea view for a wonderful (free) cup of coffee in the morning. Also there is a lift, so no problem...

Nice budget hotel Great view from sea view rooms with flowering creepers on the balcony.Breakfast is extra and is self service taken in the dining room or outside on the terrace overlooking the beach and bay.Coffee is free whether buying breafast or not.The hotel can be seen from the ferry as you approach Serifos port and is about 10/15 mins walk.Friendly staff and helpful with local Knowledge.Free room safe and plkeny of hot water.THe walk up to the Chora on the old paved path takes about 45 mins but is well worth the climb.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are worth it.

Super little hotel right on the Beach in this small, unspoilt Greek Island, great rooms with super views. Plenty of good Taverna's just a short stroll along the beach with some of the best fish I have eaten. Babis, the owner, is extremely helpful, he explained where to visit on the island, organised a hire car and was always available if we needed refreshments, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with airconditioning, telephone, safe and tv. Breakfasts on the front terrace were great, with fresh fruits, yoghurt, a good selection of freshly baked breads and of course the usual cold meats and cheese. It was soo good I am going back in September!!

Room Tip: Ask for a Sea View if possible, although the rooms at the back have a lovely view of the Chora and m...

We were a bit skeptical before booking. What a surprise! Easy to walk from the ferry arrival (~7mn walk). Wonderful welcoming. Nice little room. Clean and nice bed. A small terrass with view on the beach. Very cheap. The best value hotel we stayed at in Greece. The only down side was the noise on Saturday night. Beach side means noise from cafés. Loud music until 3am. So hard to sleep. But other nights were fantastic.
I guess you should ask for a room with views on Hora on Sat nights.

Serifos is not really on the tourist circuit so having a warm and welcoming innkeeper like Babis Bobolos makes all the difference. Loved hearing the sound of the sea (right across the street) at night and eating breakfast--or drinking wine--on the balcony. OK,it's not luxurious, but the rooms are reasonably sized, clean, have safes and nice bathrooms and the location in Livadi makes it easy to walk to shops and restaurants and also to the beautiful Hora up the mountain.

We booked our stay here with 'Greek Sun' and opted for a seaview room, which was a wise decision as the view was fantastic. You can see the whole of the harbour and take in the atmosphere. The road in front of the hotel can be noisy at times but it is a small sacrifice to have the view.

The hotel itself is a bit dated and was built in the 80's, so is older in style. There have been some renovations and the room was adequate and the bathroom spacious. The breakfast was nothing special, just what you would expect in Greece. Cereals, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, bread (which could be toasted), yoghurt and honey and an assortment of biscuits etc:

Livadi is a lively harbour and you don't have to walk far to reach the tavernas. Takis is the best one we found after trying a few others.

We decided not to hire a car and used the buses, which always ran on time, surprisingly enough. The one to Hora ran on the hour and you still need to climb quite a bit to reach the top, after leaving the bus.

We go to Greece every year and found the prices much more expensive this time. We were not sure if this was because we were in the Cyclades or if this is the case all over the other Islands.

The beach at Psilli Ammos is beautiful and only takes a short while to reach by bus. The water is so clear and warm. We also walked to the beach at Livadakia on the other side of the harbour which is great too.

The Island is very small and we only stayed for 4 nights and then moved on to Sifnos.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Maistrali as a base.
