Excellent place to stay and to dine

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 May 2024
Yesterday was our 3rd overnight stay at the Carrington Arms in the past couple of years. The room was very clean and tidy and 2 pm check-in is a bonus, as is breakfast being served until 11 am
The recently-built garden room is a great addition
The evening meal was excellent - terrific steak from the butcher's counter - and the friendly and attentive service received from Restaurant Manager Rachael, who was clearly very busy, particularly with our orders, was excellent!
Highly recommended

My husband and I were recommended The Carrington Arms by a relative who had recently visited. So, we had to go and see for ourselves what it was like. We invited friends with us and had our first visit to The Carrington Arms last week. We were not disappointed!
The food, service, atmosphere - everything! Was fantastic. Thank you to Sophie, our waitress who made sure we knew exactly how the menu worked, invited us up to meet the chef and ensured our visit was one to remember.
Thank you! We will be back. :)

Brilliant stay at the Carrington Arms in a lovely, cosy room with modern amenities.
We tried the restaurant, which was bustling, well laid out, with a great atmoshere. The chef cooked our steaks to perfection. Our server, Aimee, was so friendly, helpful and smiley, we loved our experience and special meal. Thank you to everyone.

Room tip: Book the restaurant when you book the hotel as it gets very busy

Excellent food especially choosing your own cut of meat for chef to prepare the way you like it! Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend the risotto - it was delicious and full of flavour. Large menu to choose from and a great atmosphere!

Room tip: Lots of parking available!

Our 43rd wedding anniversary date night. Fabulous service and amazing food. A bit noisy as a group of American business men in. Our waitress Caitlin was superb and needs to be awarded for her brilliant customer service. Will be back

Room tip: It was very noisy on a Tuesday night but we were offered a quieter table.

Cannot be faulted, excellent all round. Stayed on a b n b basis and used the restaurant. More than adequate rooms , nothing fancy but all your needs met, clean well-maintained.
Bar was good, with fair selection although a level up price wise on up North where we come from in comparison to similar establishments.
Restaurant met expectations after choosing our stop based on reviews .Steak cut to your requirements was pristine. The sweets where a level up and a good price.
Breakfast was again from the top drawer, ample choice of quality cooked to order.
Service is as important as the food and both fulfilled levels above our needs.
Well run quality hotel/restaurant with high levels of service and food.
